***OKIES in the BYC III ***

By chance does anyone in the east okc area have or know someone who has mille fleur d'uccle hatching eggs for sale?

Check with MjGigax. I could be wrong but I think she raises mille fleur
Oh and I have decided I would like to start up a small layer flock.. Of course I want some pretty birds but ones that are good layers.. Any suggestions??

Rebecca my absolute favorite layer is the golden comet. They lay gigantic eggs, prolifically and are friendly. Because they don't breed true, I buy 6 - 10 every year from Lumber 2. Couldn't ask for a better layer.
Thanks for the Welcome bardies: Longhorns, most expensive meat on the market lately.
Pasture fed, no drugs, they provide more and better nutrients than you can get out of a bottle. The lean meat is just what the Doctor ordered.
This is ole boy is somewhere around 18 years old. His half brother is over 20. They are very gentle as long as you don't get 'em cornered, and pressure them in a catch pen. They jump like a deer. Just took a 600 pound yearling off to the slaughter house the other day.

Look at those horns! Those are awesome!

saying we are due snow tonight and tomorow
Noooooooooooooooooooooo!!!! No more snow!

On the flowered crochet side of the new quilt I am working on I am adding two small squares one a CA awareness ribbon for my MIL the other a block for my Gma it is for alzhiemers, the color is purple, but I didn't want to do another "ribbon" so this is what I drew up, can you tell what it is??? I designed it so am not sure if it comes across to others like what I was thinking, that is why I am asking.

It sure is beautiful. I don't have a lot of imagination when it comes to art but it looks like a broken heart to me, Sorry if that's not what it is. Whatever it is I love it!

i'm pretty sure she raises mile fleur Cochin i don't think she has any mile fleur d'uccle

Poco, that picture is awesome. Robin, I'm pretty sure it's a Silver Laced Wyandotte. I have seriously got to get some Wyandottes at some point.
Kass, the boys have a good healthy appetite. I was glad to see they didn't seem stressed and ate immediately. The "known slip" is in love with the Spitzhauben girls, the Spitz pen is in front of where I put the boys & he crowed at the girls all afternoon lol I really like them a lot and I appreciate very much having them :) It was my husband's birthday today, everyone who called him asked what he got for his birthday-he told them he got a couple of roosters.

I am bummed out, out of the 17 shipped silkie eggs in my incubator on day 10 i only have one baby...

I guess that's what I get with shipped eggs. I had just hoped for more since this was my first hatch. I will try to find hatching eggs local for the next hatch. Not giving up, just disappointed is all.

Muesky and Mjgigax, the folks that were sitting behind us at Newcastle auction raise miniature LONGHORNS! If you like banties...this has got to be the coolest! Just think, mini steak and cheese to go with the mini breakfast egg!

Coral are you taking pics w/o your glasses again????? I see snow in your pic and out my window.

Yes, but I used auto focus. I know there is snow in the picture, but it was melting, which is why I got so excited. There is a lot of shade under and near the pine trees, so the snow lasts the longest there.

She's a silver laced wyandotte pullet.
