Thanks, yes that is her name, I remembered it was like a breed of chicken but then couldn't remember the chicken!!!! lol lol lol

I hope those berries do well for you and Betsy, you will need to pamper them this year since they were transplanted so late in the year. Even if they look like they have died back, keep them watered and mulched the roots very well could survive and grow out for you in the fall.

There are many posters on BYC that are children.

Anyone else get chigger bites, or was I especially tastey??????

Chiggers? Your chickens could have them too.

The sick looking bird on here with the head swelling, I would bet a dozen eggs it was chiggers. That's why the ivermectin treatment worked.

I'm so sad that I couldn't come to POOPS, any chance of having it in a more central location?

Wonderful photos, Kass. Thank you to all those who helped make POOPS a wonderful, wonderful day. The weather was out-of-this-world gorgeous. If you couldn't make it or forgot to pick up your T-Shirt, send me a PM. I'll mail T-Shirts to folks this week.

Rafael had a wonderful time. He is anxious for me to set the eggs he won in the raffle. He talked, non-stop, on the drive home, explaining how he was going to care for his chickens when they hatch.

brought home some lovely new chicks, and many of my birds went to live with other chicken momma and dads. I hope the screaming roosters found good-natured owners. They can be a dangerous nuisance in the wrong hands (he he he). I keep one in my truck for stress control.

I left a few things behind by mistake. If anyone knows the location of the following items, please send me a PM. Thanks! Glass bowl with white daisies pattern, big blue plastic spoon, stainless steel pie cutter/server.

Again, a huge Thank You to all the people who visited, bought, sold, setup, cleaned up, participated, smiled, laughed, and shared the day with others.

Guess I'm especially tasty too! I have a lot of chigger bites, but Vashi has none. Looked up on internet--said to take your partially used jar of Vicks Vaporub and add two TBSP table salt. I've done that on the bites that showed up yesterday--just scooped out about a TBSP of Vicks and added salt, and it gave me a lot of relief. Others are continuing to show up. Especially stupid on my part; I brought a can of DEET, which I forgot to use! I had my chickens on feed sacks, with the babies up about 3 feet off the ground, so hope none get the chiggers. I know other mites and specie specific, so maybe chiggers are too?

POOPS was a lot of fun. There are so many nice "chicken people", and was good to see old friends and meet new ones. Got to visit more than usual, which was great! Coral is an exceptional organizer, and she and her crew did a great job. I was so happy to win the drawings for the jar of honey--I use it daily in my coffee, and also eat it with whole wheat bread and butter--and the basket of chicken kitchen assortment. It contained various items in two different designs; one matches my sister-in-law's color scheme, and the other matches mine! Cathie Sue and I had an agreement that if either of us won the pair of stuffed chicken items, we'd share, and Cathie Sue did! I really should have just let her keep both, and will send her mine, if she'll give me her address by pm. I didn't win Loriemarler's beautiful d'uccle hot pads, but we traded--a silkie chick for the set of blue and white hot pads that go with my kitchen instead of my sister-in-law's! Bought a nice pot of 'Black and Blue' salvia, a flowering almond, and a pot of mint from Mary Jo, and Kass brought me some raspberry starts. What a wonderful way to be able to keep memories of POOPS!

Hope to see more of you next year, wherever it is held.

Came home with my new babies, introduced them to the others and all was well. Worked around the yard and was picking beans at dark. Put everyone to bed and went to snap beans. Thought to myself, did I close the doors on the coop? To tired to go check, I simply looked with a flash light and say the caribener on the hasp and thought, yep. Well, went out to let them into the run and guess what, the coop was unlocked. Not a chicken in sight. I was heart broken....................Found them about 30 yards away all huddled up. Now to catch 20 chicks in the open. 45 minutes later almost everyone is home. I believe something helped them out because I'm still missing one. One of the golden ginger red bantams I bought yesterday. No feathers or blood around so there I still hold on to hope.
