A late Merry Christmas all! I read all of your posts, though I do not comment often. I pray for you guys, cry at the loss of your birds :0( , and celebrate with the successes. :0)

This is an update to show the beautiful girls I got from @lonnyandrinda this summer:

The sexlink is next to my Austrolourpe. The only way I can quickly tell them apart is that the sexlink - Phoenix, or Nixie for short - has white earrings (for lack of the correct word...) :0) She just started laying beautiful olive eggs, and is super sweet. I do think she is one of the fastest animals alive! The Cream Legbar has just gotten her "big girl" voice, thus rendering her name, Trilly, a bit obsolete, but she is still our baby. This time of year is perfect for her, as she blends in really well with the dead grasses and red dirt. She is pretty tame as well. :0)

ok, so much for that dog not bothering poultry- he carried off a duck, i am spitting nails right now- he came back is chained and now what are my options? i know i have the right to protect the flock, if dave puts a note on the collar, think that will do any good? been all over the property, can't find any sign of the duck

Sorry. There isn't really a good answer I suppose you could ask around to the neighbors and see if they recognize him. Any chance a county animal control would take him? Free ad on Craigslist for a week or two? Hate for you to have to consider it but SSS would also fix the problem.

I do not think a note on the collar will do any good for two reasons mostly you will have to let him go again, and risk more losses, secondly I seriously doubt even if the owner gets the note it will mean them keeping the dog up. I see 3 options, keeping him chained / restrained and advertising for his owner and hoping they will respond or see it, animal shelter, or SSS

Working on making a sweater into an outfit for Rudy, instead of the 2T sizes I have been working with this one is a bigger child's sweater, I am using one 1/2 (front) of the main sweater body as his tunic, then taking the two arms and making a set of pants and sleeves. The sweater I am working with right now is pink and white, but if this works I have a wool dark green one I will modify for him, a little more manly and hoping a little warmer since it is wool

well, i guess muskogee county doesn't have an animal control - outside of city limits we're stuck.... gonna have to do something- what do you think the chances are of her still being alive?
