That reminds me-we were sitting on the benches at the show in the sale area and my husband was looking around at the people and he says, "It's an addiction. That's what this is to them."
I didn't remind him I had the addiction as bad as anyone else there.

I am selling all of my bantam chickens. There are Seramas and Silver Duckwing OEGB. There are birds ranging in age from 6 months to 3 years. All of the hens are lying. There are approximately 12-15 of each breed, with only a couple of roosters in each pen. The breeds are seperated, so any eggs are fertile and pure. I have hatched many babies from these flocks. I just don't have time for them any more.

Maud is south east of Tecumseh. It is only about 20-25 minutes from my house and is one of the closest auctions to my house. From Guthrie I would say it is probably an hour drive easily. You would take HWY 35 south to I40 east to 177, take 177 til you get to HWY 9 east to 9A south which goes straight into Maud. You can see the auction barn from the road but it is kind of weird how you get to it. You pass it til you get to where the first Y in the road where you have to make a sharp left going back north a bit and the auction is on the west side of the road. Just a hop, skip and a jump as my grandma used to say.

Just made a big pot of chickenless, chicken noodle and vegetable soup. It is awesome, especially with a dollup of sour cream. Also made a batch of cheesy bread to go with it for the weeks meals.
I cook all my meals for the week on Sunday, then portion it out into containers. It really cuts down on dishes, prep time and how much food I eat. Plus since I started doing this it has cut my food bill in half or less. My goal is to one day cook two or three weeks up at one time but I just do not have the storage space yet for that.

Well this is my last full week of work for the year. Next week we only go three days before break. Yeah!!!! Oh and I talked to the DD tonight. She is still hurting a lot but is trying to stay positive. Her next appointment to the doctor is Friday and we will know then whether she can come home for Winter Break.

We decided she is going to take a train from San Antonio to Ft. Worth then I will pick her up there. The round trip ticket is only $50 and we would spend way more then that on gas.

Chickens have so much variety - something for everybody. I love to learn about all the breeds from the breeders that love them. I heard Al, June and Jerry Cocoran talked about the individual birds they exhibited.
