I wish you had said something... I have plenty of good wire here, we get it directly from Albright Steel in OKC, it is much more cost effective and much better wire. The 14 gauge 1 x 1/2 and 1x1 is sold in 100 ft rolls in 6 inch increments starting at 18 inches. going up to 48. that is some real tough stuff.
based on how you mae the pen you should not need a metal support and could make them stacked or side by side either way add 1 inch to the bottom before you start placing teh flooring in to allow for a poop tray.
I wondered about where to find a heavier gauge wire. I'm going to stack two cages beginning 18 inches up off the floor...easier for me to bend over to tend the lower one and to allow for space for birds to walk under them. The metal racks will be welded so each cage has a poop drawer space in the shelving. At least that's my vision. I have been using some of those old style rabbit cages with the pull out metal poop drawer...that tin deteriorates pretty quickly.
I have one cage that has no spacing for a drawer, but has strips along the bottom edge to hold in wood shavings on a flat surface. It takes a little longer to clean that cage, but for chicks or a bird with an injured foot, it keeps the bird off the wire floor.
