If you are taking a high dose of blood thinner like I do, you should never ever use your leg to push your big Asil rooster out of the way when he is romancing one of his hens. And if you are not smart enough to know better than this, be sure to have lots of paper towels handy and be prepared to keep lots of pressure on the hole in your leg for a minimum of 30 minutes.

way too true! realy gets to be a hassel wiping blood off all the time.

I am looking for someone(s) to help me build a chicken coop(s)...as raccoon/skunk/coyote proof as possible...within my budget.
I am also looking for free materials on my local FreeCycle.org group but so far no replies.

I live about 8 miles West of Purcell near the Woody Chapel store.

ROFLMAO!!! Thats so funny because I know just what you mean! Many is thime I come in house from being out messing with the birds and pens and look in the mirror and have streams of dryed or fresh blood running down my face or back of my arms! Often wonder what a stranger would think if they happend to come along for a visit and find me looking like that!lol

Yeah I think I may have to find some homers to introduce some yellow into the common flock. I have never seen yellow pop out in commons. And I love yellows! I'm going to cull all plain dark(the most common common colors) and try get a really colorful flock going.Guess I need to come up with some wierd name for them so I can call them a breed when some one ask what they are!lol I swear thats what is happening when I look on some sites and see breeds I have never heard of before!lol

Been there, had a big bird that was mean as could be.. kept telling steph I wanted to eat him and get my revenge but she would not let me.
Had one of my Bantams stick his spur in a vein on my hand last winter, blood everywhere and a bird literally stuck in my hand till I removed him. It was a good thing he had a long life prior to that happening.
