***OKIES in the BYC III ***

Had a text message from Michael Daugherty earlier this week. He needs feed sacks if anyone has more than they want to use for themselves. He is usually at the Cement and Blanchard auctions and has also been going to Mary's Swap in Midwest City on Saturdays.

I ahve enough to fill a full size truck bed.. Planned to use some in teh garden this year but if michael needs them or some he is more than welcome to them.

Goodness, Kass, you're going to skinny up and fall over if you don't eat!
I met with "Carl The Jarvis" (lol MJ!) and gave him a dozen Bantam Faverolles eggs to try to hatch for me. Not sure if any will hatch but they've got a lot better chance at his place that me doing it. I did keep 3 here and am going to see if any hatch for me. And then a pair of our original chickens laid their 1st egg today so I'm sticking that in there also.
This is the breed I wanted most of all but I'm trying not to hope too hard. Nana, how many of your shipped eggs hatched?

# the first time and Carl reports there are 8 this time....

If they are fertile I will hatch them, all look good to this point no broken of loose air sacs. I will set them in the morning and we will know this time next week how they are doing in the fertility dept.
nanKat had 3 on the first shipment of 18, this time with 12 she has 8 that as of tonight run from the candleing light. So better this go around.

Cowboy - nice looking birds. I like the brassy backs and yours is nice. How many birds did you take with you when you moved? How many do you have now? Snow already? It's just raining lightly here right now. Temp is 40 degrees but I'm sure that will change soon.

Nana - that's a long time for a house to be on the market - since March '11. I hope for a reasonably quick sale, but not at the expense of losing all of the equity potential. I've had this house since 1988. A lot of memories are here too, which could account for my shock at the low prices houses are selling for now. I'd like for the sale to be fair for me and for the buyer. As bad as I want out of here, I'm finding that it's a more emotional process than I thought it would be. BTW, your spangled's are gorgeous! I saw some of those at the Sept. show when you got yours. Those are on my wish list for later on.

Memories go with your heart on a move. Hope the house sells quickly for you too.

Looks like Carl has that covered. I have cow pellet sacks too if he needs more.

Good Morning~ I haven't looked outside but it is suppose to be cold all day!

Hope you all stay inside & stay warm (& entertain me while I am at work)

Nana, you're too funny. I had a student who frequently misplaced modifiers when writing, and she could never hear the error when reading her own work. For example, she wrote, "I love to shop for beautiful handbags for girls with expandable bottoms, because they can hold more than one hair brush." I never let this young lady read her work in class unless I'd helped her edit it first.

It's still dark as pitch outside, and it's drizzling, so I'm waiting for sunup to feed and water the animals. DH is going to a funeral for a peer: heart attack took him younger than 55. It's sobering, because there is no family history. The only contributing factor DH can see is stress.

Morning Sooner. Hope we get some sunny skies later in the day.

I was reading a blog about sustainable agriculture and came across this photo. Makes me want to go to the hot springs in Colorado. I'd go before dark, though, before swim suits are optional.

LOL, cute pic, I have one to add later that will go right along with that one. Sorry about DH's friend.

Even if we get sun, I don't think we will get warmth.

morning guys- looks like winter is finally going to show up...
waiting to go feed and water- need to figure out stacking wire cages, do away with the wooden cages- for the banty gang, only way to deter the mite infestation i think.... the porch has wooded cages- so if anyone knows of some that won't cost a fortune, let me know
