***OKIES in the BYC III ***

Mitzi, please don't let Nathanael see this bird!!! The boy is bantam crazy!!! He now has a little roo from Carl, a little roo/hen set from Carl, a BB red roo, and two modern game bantam roos from an auction back in December. The kid has them SPOILED!!!! The red one starts chattering in his cage as soon as he hears Nathanael's voice. His little pair he has them coming to the front of the cage to be picked up when they see him. He thinks he needs one in every color, lol.

He will love some Cochins then. Is he coming to POOPS?

Yes! I agree with MJ, Cochins are way cool! I'm partial to my big Cochins, I guess because they were the 1st babies I hatched. These Bantam Faverolles are pretty awesome, too. Sweet darling little things! They're thick and chunky, just like miniature LF Favs.
June, congrats! Me and Channing are proud of you! Everyday I think of you and thank God you gave me Channing. I love this little guy so much. He's a real tiny companion and the greatest company.

This wk I tried to move a RIR roo into my large coop that is the lean to of the barn. He hasn't seemed to fit in. He is in love with DD & watched over her all weekend. Today she gets off the bus & when she was half way up the driveway he comes running from the barn to meet her. He had to have heard her, our driveway is 1/4 mile long & the barn is no where near the driveway. So of course she scooped him up & gave him an after school snack. He ate on the patio table while the dogs sat & whined wanting a snack too.

I love this story lol! What a great kid :)

Kass, Yeti may not like you taking her man!

Upcdayz, that sounds so rewarding what your sister is going, I can't imagine in a million years being able to do that. I've always had kids or animals at home I couldn't leave. It sounds like a blast.

Just spotted this on Craigslist for those that may be interested.
This post is for 6 Lavender Orpington chicken, Wade Jean line. They are $6.00 each. The eggs on ebay go for that price. Me cell is 918.691.2765
Go to http://tulsa.craigslist.org/grd/2961416827.html to see pictures.
Orpingtons remind me of Cochins without leg warmers. I I've heard that name Wade Jean so many times. Is it a breeder? They must have a bunch of different breeds.
The youngest babies got to be outside in their "playpen" today. They loved it! I just can't imagine watching baby chicks will ever get old. They're the funniest animals.
I meant to add-my daughter made several 4x4 and 4x8 pens covered with chicken wire, they're the greatest things! She did a perfect job.

Iris is one of the few plants you divide and replant during the summer no biggie if they are still blooming just mix a light bleach water solution to dip them in after you divide to control fungi make a small mound the main tuber part needs to be partly out of the ground and the small feeder roots around the mound and buried, cut the foliage off like a fan to about 3 or 4 inches so it's not top heavy and next year it will bloom a lot better than when it's crowded, I would love to talk some of you all out of a few different colors and types I have a few and some day Lillie's also My Cannas haven't come on this year and my Hollyhocks aren't showing up I think those didn't make it through the heat last year...
I bet if someone brought some Irises to POOPS for the raffle they would gets some bids. I would bid on any color. I like them all, (only have the maroon and gold ones).

Hi Okies,

Its been a while since I've been by, but here I am...come to bragg about my big win. This past weekend was the infamous 'Cajun Classic Serama International' held near New Orleans. It is the 'Super Bowl' of Serama shows. Here is a picture of my biggest win....(actually, I lost)...This is Best of the Best Competition for Grand Champion...I didn't win, but got Reserve to Grand Champion. I also got Champion Malay Hen, Champion Silkied Cock, Champion Reserve Silkied Cock, Champion Silkied Hen. My little one pictured here weighs 10.2 Oz. Grand Champion belonged to Danny Bolding from Alabama.

Wonderful!

gorgeous boy! Allbreeds!

spent the morning cleaning out the goose nesting area- she gave me a serious stink eye and just stood there staring- geeze i feel like a traitor, but they were mostly duck eggs that were bound to spoil- for those that use pinesol for flies- does it need to be the name brand, cuz the store brand doesn't seem to phase them

JUNE! CONGRATS!! That is so awesome! and to think my boys are from your birds! Joe is a bachelor right now, his lady Josie went broody...

and then, two more banties went broody- this is getting a bit ridiculous! i have got to break them somehow....

looks like only one of the eggs in the bator will hatch, guess i had to wait too long on setting them while the others hatched, oddly enough its the one i glued together- it is in lockdown today....
