Needing to find a serama hen.my daughters died over the weekend. It was a silken and we have the lil male that keeps looking for her. Sianna was planing on breeding these at least once to do hatches with. Any birds, suggestions, and or help?

I'm so sorry for your loss.
Well its a sad Memorial day for us for sure. Some of you have met our little "retirement child" Izzy. She jumped out a ditch right in front of a motorcycle this afternoon. They were very nice and stopped and told us and apologized but there was no way they could avoid her. She was really like our child and will be missed greatly. At least it was fast and she didn't suffer.

Well started a new week, kind of thankfull that I only work 2 day this week. It will be a busy day here which is good after being off for 4 days. For fried green tomatoes I make those like I make my fried egg plant, I love both! LOL Now I am craving fried squash, I might have to pick some up on my way home to cook up tonight. Lynn that recipe sounds delish, I may have to try that too.

Momme, sorry to hear about the serama, the kids saw some at the auction the other night I had to say "No" at least a dozen times, lol. We are not adding any new breeds of birds until after July, lol.

We got a tiny bit of rain, not sure how much but it couldnt' have been to much. The ground was barely damp, I really hope we get more tonight.

Kass your garden stuff looks sooooo good. Was able to get a few things out of mine this past weekend, cooked some zuchinne squash, it was great. Canned 12 quarts and 6 pints of pickled beets last weekend. Been getting lots of greens, a few pods of okra along with a few green beans, been looking for ripe tomatoes too, lots of green ones everywhere, a few that are starting to look like they will be ready soon, do you ever slice your ripe tomatoes, drizzle them with olive oil, motazrella cheese on top with a little fresh basil, then under the broiler for a few minutes ?
Yes they are great that way, if I don't have fresh spices sometimes I use a good oil/vinegar salad dressing. I also do the same w/ the big mushroom tops, that is where I started w/ the salad dressing b/c the caps held it, the "berry" dressings are great on the mushrooms.

dear friends my husband banjo has ask that any of his friends that need to get ahold of him do so through me and i will get him the message thank you
