Robin had some! She can post pics. I can't remember if they had feathered legs or not though, but they were NN/Cochin bantam crosses.
I've seen some pics - very funny looking birdsLOL I see you slipping on the slope towards NN's now! Hmmm cochin/NN crosses that might be interesting, haha.
So standard NNs have yellowisn skin and bare legs? That depends if you are talking about the breed of NN that is bred to standard then no, if you are talking about NN crosses, then they can have anything your heart desires basically the NN is an easy to pass gene so you could make your own NN w/ feathered legs. I have NN w/ the normal skin color (yellowish) they have alot of red on there necks and faces, and I have those w/ dark skin. (they are my favorite)
You should look up showgirl chickens (be SURE to add chickens), NN x silkie crosses developed for many gerations.. I think they are really cute and neat. Mine have heavily feathered legs and feet, black skin, and big crests. They're bantams, but not nearly as small as OEGBs, and like silkies, they can't fly.Do some NNs have feather legs? What about skin color? I am getting too curious about NNs. Now that I've got a second breed, Ameraucanas/EEs, I am slipping into more breeds! I held off with just Cochins for almost 3 years. Well I did have one red NN that I raised from a chick and gave away at 4 mo. I kind of miss her.
Yes, I believe so.So standard NNs have yellowisn skin and bare legs?
Just takes one time as far as I know. But if you want fertile eggs out of her you'll have to leave him in with her. Eggs take....like 24 hrs? to form and he'll have to have bred her within the right time frame of when the egg is forming.ANOTHER SILLY QUESTION!!
yesterday, I walked out side to see my rooster on top of my Orpington. She didnt try to fight him, she just squat and let him do his business. He doesnt balance very well, seems how he only has stumps for feet. Could this possibly make her fertile? Does it only take one time of mating or several to get a hen fertile?
Thanks!
