***OKIES in the BYC III ***

Single comb, peacomb or rosecomb? it all plays a role...

Single comb could be up to 21 days.
Peacomb 10-14 days,
Rosecomb 7-10 days

if you have an agressive breeder could be shorter but not gauranteed.

I have a very aggressive LF Brn/red Cochin roo. Moved him over on Sunday and he is already taken advantage of the hens.

Do some NNs have feather legs? What about skin color? I am getting too curious about NNs. Now that I've got a second breed, Ameraucanas/EEs, I am slipping into more breeds! I held off with just Cochins for almost 3 years. Well I did have one red NN that I raised from a chick and gave away at 4 mo. I kind of miss her.
No.. No.. No.. You need Rosecomb Bantams.. Blue to be specific.. I have sooooooooooooo many you really really really need some... No NN stay bantam... they eat less..

Even when I kept the big birds I ordered Cornish x for meat birds when I wanted them.. 6-7 weeks of feed for a 7lb bird is hard to beat. Bantams can and do lay very well. just takes a few more eggs to make things, eye candy is all in what a person likes. Personally I like not feeding 1 Ton of feed a month or more.. It is very nice having cut back.
We all know I raise mine for different reasons than many on here, and will not dispute that for a second, but they are still very usefull animals.
