***OKIES in the BYC III ***

Anyone watching the fire East of Noble? Does not look good! Elwood and Meusky live over that way. Who else?
We live northwest of the fire about 3 miles. The smoke is unbelievable. Will load up our dogs and goats but no way to carry chickens. Don't know what to do other than keep running the impact sprinklers. Praying for all the people that are in the path.

Just heard from Rebecca, (Muesky) She is 15 miles North of the fire and is getting ash in her yard.
Hope the fire stayes NE of you, Giglin. Actually hope it goes out!
4 years ago a fire got within 30 yards of our house. I am still terrified. Our neighbor lost everything.

Bill (Ellwood) is south of the fires, He's east of Lexington. I can see the smoke from the west side of Blanchard. I got my goats because I was scared of a brush fire that was started by lightning in the pasture north of me a few years back. Rain stopped the fire as it hit the brush line north of my house, the fire chief said my house was the only one they were concerned about the fire burning towards.

Glad Rebecca is safe so far, praying no embers travel that far.

Our son just came out and took all our photos and important papers and those things we would hate to lose into Norman. We are as prepared as we can be so just hoping they get this thing out. Oh, and by the way, newschannels are saying that this is a grass fire. It is not! It is in heavily forested area that has very dry undergrowth. Perfect tinderbox.

It's northwest of me a few miles, I heard that areas had been evacuated around it and the roads were blocked, I'm not getting any smoke or ash here I hope it don't come this way and we sure could use some rain to stop the fire and to cool things off a bit,

Looks like there are multiple fires in various parts of the state this evening. I hope and pray that all of our chicken friends, and the non-chicken folks as well, stay safe from the fires.

There are too many fires across OK, hope everyone is safe from them and the firefighters stay safe.

I'm loosing the battle w/ the garden, even w/ near constant watering, haven't even started planting for fall, it is so hot even if the seeds germinate there is no way to keep them alive!
