I bought 3 whiterocks and 2 black sexlinks and 4 banties today. The metal bands came out easily enough except on one it seemed to be healing on it. One of the bantams seems to have 2 toes on each side webbed together. I didnt notice it until I left and its a LONG drive to go back for 1 bantie. I guess thats what you get from hatchery birds. I should of payed more attention. ill post a pick of it tommarow if I can. All the others seems fine and healthy however.

I bet it is a silkie! I purposely picked out all the "5-toed" chicks the day I was there because my son wanted silkies. Count your chick's toes on both feet and I bet you come up with 5....they do look a bit alien if you aren't used to them....lol

Its not 5 toes. I do have silkies. ill will try to get a descent photo in the morning. I actualy looked for silkies and they didnt have any left that i noticed. Though i didnt look over all the solid black and white ones as i wanted something with some colour. the other 3 are clean legged bantams. I picked odd colours hoping for something difrent.

I got a blue one and a splash one...can't rememer what else. Now I'm curious as to what you have there!

i definetly would of jumped on a blue or splash silkie, you could ahve left one for me lol. I was surprised how big Atwoods was, never been to one before. Man Claremore is huge.

Edit: I tried to take a photo but the battiers are dead, ill leave them on the charger tonite.

hehe...sorry...I checked and the 3rd one is a bearded white one I think. The rest of the banties I got were cochins...all different colors. Like I said, this is my 11 yr old's little flock, so I wanted him to have easy going, sweet birds.
Our Atwoods was enlarged a year or so ago and is very big now. Claremore is huge?! Where are you at?

After years of living in Tulsa, Claremore is tiny. But I thought Tahlequah was larger than Claremore? I will admit, we are growing, and I like not having to go to Tulsa for anything anymore.

Dutch, I 'inherited' a Sultan from my Atwoods recently. They're bearded and have five toes. Did you get one?

I think I may be getting confused. *ha* I found the black legs and beak to be the quickest way to pick out Silkies. Oh, and could you post a picture of your Splash Silkie chick?? I have a blue one right now, but I'm not sure what the Splashes look like as chicks.

The first chick that I bought from a store was a Black Silkie. Of course at the time I knew nothing about chickens. I remembering getting home and noticing the 5 toes, and telling my dad I'd got a deformed chick.

Birds for Sale:

Well, of those new birds I got, plus the ones I had, we have selected who we want to keep for breeders, which leaves PLENTY of colors to share. Anyone who wants to come out and have a looksy [bring a cage!] is welcome to stop by today, and Friday. Likely we will head to an auction Saturday [someone is reposting the Jones info?], and would like suggestions on which auction to go to.

Here is a preliminary list. Will have something more specific later, OK?

Blues in OEG, D'Anvers, Jersey Giants [Golda Miller line], Crested non-bearded Polish, and others.
Buffs and Porcelains in D'Uccles, OEG, Polish.
White and Splash in above.
Buckeyes.
Rose combed Brown Leghorns.
White Sultans.

Gee, like i said, too many to mention, best you call and come out...

Will add to list later. We absolutely LOVE all these birds, but have finally decided on what colors and breeds we want for breeding, and will have to part with the rest ;-(

To good homes only, for a fair price... Just IM me for phone number and address... thx...

Thanks Carla. Would like to go to that other auction end of the month as well...

Of course, "to good homes" is understood here LOL.

"Attn, we have a list"... phew that was more work than expected...

So, is there a better place to post it than here? Or since this is the OKIE group, list it here? warning you, this is a LONGGGGGGG list...

Carla, can you give me more information on the show? Most of ours are less than four months, but some are a little older and have test papers if needed to go. Really need to figure out WHERE i am going this weekend... thx
