To ALL of you military folks.

..I salute you and appreciate the sacrifice that you made for us....My dad was an Army man... POW in WWII....and I know the pride he had in serving his country...but he paid a HUGE price in doing so...He was never the same after coming home...but if you had asked him he would tell you he would do it again in a heart beat. Patriotism goes a long way with our family.

Got home Sunday and had another Showgirl laying in the shell all dried out...she just couldn't get out....peeled the shell and she came out yelping...YEAH! :

Tina...are you still alive....haven't seen you on for a bit...you can come out now...I can't reach you that far.....

Good morning, Okies
I enjoyed looking at the pictures last night and it was fun to try and remember who is in the pictures.

Cammie, once you are sure you have all the buckshot out of that pheasant,

cut off the legs and boil it in some chicken broth until the meat falls off the bones. Pull the meat off the bones and put in fresh chicken broth (the stuff you boil it in gets nasty scummy) and bring to a boil. Make dumplings according to the recipe on the Bisquick box, adding a little sage to the recipe. Drop the unrolled dough into the boiling broth by the teaspoon (sort of like putting a spoon of cookie dough on a cookie sheet

) so that you cover the top of the broth with spoonfuls of dough. Cover and simmer about 20 minutes. Roll the doughball dumplings over to the other side and cover and cook about 15 minutes more. You can use canned chicken broth. I use a 4 qt. pan and fill it about half full of broth, so there is a broader cooking surface for the dumplings. If you want actual quantities, better find a "real" recipe.

Morning all.

Yes you bet Donna I enjoyed the bidding war. If it had been at a different auction I would not have bid against ya. But this was for the fund.

Grace by your happenings night before last, yesterday I went and moved birds around to make sure they were safe and sound. I did find one bird that was still free ranging in the woods missing a head. My little black cochin roo bood-row is now safe and sound in with some oeg girls. My little red cochin roo maddy(got him from Carah and madison) is safe in a cage inside the coop.

Boy it is tough figuring out where to put birds when you have so many roos.

Cammie, I put you on there cause you are one brave woman with that snake. I would have guessed you at 17 or 18 also. I will try to get with you sometime this weekend to pick up Mr Ollie.

I fixed the shutterfly album where the big one is on top now.

Good morning all. Its going to be a busy day! Since we have rain coming in got to recover the pens with the tarps, my DH took them off to help dry out the pens but Im sure the birds would like them back. Need to do some modifying on the pens also, to get them ready for winter. Hope everyone has a great day!

4 Army
2 Marines
1 Navy
1 AF
__________

That's turning out close to the percentages of active duty.

Al don't let the Marines give you too much grief. Just let 'em know. YOU are the majority!

From my experience, when you have two or more Marines you better have hip waders...

I'm the Finance Officer with the local Amvet post and my ex father in law was a Marine so I'm around a few on a continual basis.

I'm glad to see how many of us Okie BYCers are veterans.

Im alive. Just had to do alot of things here getting Lynn ready to leave. Gotta make a quick trip to Arlington this morning and then come home and pack him up and ship him out the door 1st thing tomorrow morning.

I actually DO own a pair of hip waders. When they get to piling it a little deep, I tend to bring out the waders and put them in full view...

By the way, both my parents are prior service AF. That's how I ended up in OK.
