Will, I am crying and mad all at the same time.
The State Ag guy just left with my young chocolate hen head to Ar for testing. She is live but sick.. My big Chocolate Tom dead last night and two other turkeys. I called this guy yesterday and asked for help and now I am very glad I did.
We cut one of them open and it wasn't good news. I will probably have to put the other seven in that pen down. He says it what I thought it might be. When we get the test back this weekend, I will tell all of you the hitcher's name. He sell ducks,turkeys,quail and geese I think, And I don't want other people losing birds like I have.
He sells a lot of them at auctions,too.
I know to some $400 worth of turkeys to lose isn't much to lose but to me it is. And what hurts the most is my Porter turkeys that I drive to the backwoods of Ar were the start to my heritage breeding program. Now I have to get new Porter stock in three breeds.
And I lost all of my Christmas turkeys,
Will keep you up dated for now I am headed to the coop to get two medicines. Then I am giving every blasted turkey on the place one shot today and one tomorrow.
I was luck his Ag guy knows his stuff and who to call for help. He ttalk with a turkey vet that works for Butterball. And he will to work with me and help me.
Will keep you up dated.
Mostly it been a listen to buy from Carla and NO one else. darn costly mistake.

Grace: sorry I'm late to post about your loss. Wish there was something we could do for you guys!

Last night our 4H leader loaned us the standard of perfection while we were packing cookies for cookie appreciation day.
We are currently trying to dig our way through it on the three breeds.
One of the RIR flew out of the brooder last night. We walked in the laundry room to see it just hanging out on the floor. Put it back, so far none of the others have followed suit.

What about your other birds? Are they at risk now??

Henney - That reminds me... This summer I went to an Aerosmith concert. There were people outside handing out 'Tickets to Heaven.' But if you turn it over it said 'Ticket to Hell.' We thought it was kinda funny. Lol

My LITTLE sister is 19, so ya, I'm older than 17. Lol. For a while people thought we were twins, then they started thinking she was the oldest...

When I got married my hubby's family thought I was still in high school... He and I graduated in the same class!

I know for a FACT that no one on this board EVER says anything meaning to offend anyone! We're all just a big bunch of chicken loving goobers.
