5:46 AM??? Dang, Teach! Get some sleep man! See you in a couple of days.

Okay, now my turkeys are all lined up staring at me through the picture window like a bunch of starving orphans, so I really had best get out there to them.

Morning everyone!

It's going to be another great day! I was outside with my chickens all day yesterday, the weather was so nice. DH even offered to start a new coop for the little one's Madison won in the raffle. He's so sweet.
Sounds like you guys all had fun at Blanchard. Glad you guys that had so far to go made it home safe & sound! Sorry about your ducks getting stolen. Too bad you can't hold someone to a higher standard & make it work. Hope you can find somemore.

Hiya Charlie!!!

Friday night when we were getting chickens ready for the Eufala 4-H Show, we chose to leave a pair of Red Pyle MGB because they were so thin. I hadn't noticed just how skinny they were because well they are little birds anyway. All they had was a the breastbone and no meat whatsoever. So when we put them back into their pens and put Wazine in their water.

Last night when we returned, I noticed a bunch of round worms in their poop!

We had gotten them at our local auction about 3 weeks ago.

I do worm my chickens every so often but I have NEVER seen any worms. This happens probably once a quarter. So now this will be a requirement for all new chickens as soon as they arrive on the place. Wormer for everyone, no exceptions! All of our chickens will be back to a once a month schedule now for a while.

Hopefully, minus the worms I can get some meat on them and ready for show. Right now the shows are coming at 2 week intervals. Busy, busy, busy.

I'm still surprised to have actually seen worms.

I've got a question. As serious as this is, I don't want to be flogged though. I always hear about not eating the eggs when birds are sick or medicated. (My experience is most sick birds don't lay eggs.) However, I remember in school discussing how the milk maids did not get smallpox because of being exposed to cowpox thru the milk. I know now many vaccines are made with eggs. People do get worms. If it's an amount necessary to kill worms in chickens, I don't see how it would be enough to harm a person and probably not enough to even kill any worms in the person. (There are human wormers available.) If you are hatching eggs, if the chick develops and hatches (provided no physical problems presents) what does it matter that the hen was being wormed at the time when she laid the egg?

These are just my random thoughts concerning medication and eggs. As Stimpy says, "I'm just saying...".

Who knows, children who eat eggs from chickens with fowlpox might develop immunity from chickenpox. That could be a truly natural vaccine that is normally just thrown away? Of course, one of the downsides of fowlpox is the chickens quit laying though.

Please, don't put me in timeout. Please, don't put me in timeout.

I will be interested to know this my self... Dandelion... Hey learning is all apart of this life no matter which route we choose personally...

Hey Teach: That blows about your birds getting kidnapped.. may they peck the hands of the person that stole them... LOL and find there way home to you...

Glad that outside of the stealing incident you all had a great time... I had to hollar at Jason a few times to just rest... he was getting stubborn and making his surgery wounds bleed by doing to much and not enough propping of his leg...

You all have a great morning... much to do here

Well its gonna be a crappy morning around here. I woke up and let the dogs out and heard the Roo's crowing and thought how lovely. I went to make a pot of coffee and picked up my coffee creamer and im totaly out!!! How am I suppose to function without a cup of coffee in the morning? May have to run down to the log store and get a cappacino.

The exact same thing just happened to me. No creamer for my coffee, and that's a BAD thing. Guess I'll buy a large 32 oz cup on my way to work in a half hour.

I cant drink my coffee black, gotta have creamer. Hopes its a nice day outside, if im not gonna be hunting this ML season I can atleast get alot of yard work done before winter gets here. Where do you work at Faerilady?

Dandelion - Forgot to mention last night....... The kids spotted Corey's jacket
as we were leaving. We've got it and will bring it to Fayetteville.

TJ hooked the camera up to the TV this morning and we looked through all
the pictures. I've got some good close-ups of our Okies/BYC Juniors and
now will try to figure out how I got pictures posted on here once before.

Any of you that missed it, go back a few and check out our Okie Juniors at the
Eufaula Show. Oh, they know now just "who" these Junior Okies on the BYC
are.

Have a good one !
