my fear of that happening has kept me from trying some wiring projects on my own.

Morning all! Faerie, I hope your leg cramps go away soon. They are no fun at all!

I guess I'd better log in to my network here at work. It's almost 8 - and I don't want to be accused of being a slacker!

Faerie, make sure that you are drinking plenty of water.

Speaking of magnets, the ones that Atwoods sells with the handle, pickup metal better than any I've had. You can't hardly pull the nails off of the magnet.

Good day Okies : I thought it would be nice to see what some of our own Okies in the BYC looked like when we were younger soldiers back in the day. Now most of you know us as a fun loving bunch of folks, so I thought I would let you have a look. I wasn't able to get very many pic's from our Okies Official active members as I would have liked, older non digital pic's were hard to transfer to the computer. but here are a few of us.

Gerald :
Gerald joined the Air Force in 1978, just after graduating high school in Highmore, South Dakota and retired at Altus Air Force Base in 1995.

Stimpy :

I went into the Marine Corps when I was 17. It was my first job. I went to boot camp in San Diego, California, then to advanced infantry training and on to westpac.

I spent 1970-71 with the 1st Marine Division in Viet Nam and the 3rd Marine Division on Okinawa. I will always consider myself one of the Magnificent Bastards of Fox Co., 2nd Battalion, 4th Marines (Fox 2/4). I spent the rest of 1971, at MCAS El Toro, Santa Ana, CA., and Camp Pendleton, CA.

Early in 1972, I was transferred to Lima Co., 3rd Battalion, 6th Marines at Camp Lejeune, NC. Upon arrival, I learned that 3/6 was preparing to go afloat to the Mediterranean. Because I didn't have enough time left on my enlistment, it was decided that me and a few others would stay behind as a rear guard unit. Once the Battalion was afloat, orders came down that everyone with a certain "by date" were eligible for early outs. I fell within the dates ordered, so I was able to get home early.

Stimpy is the lean green fighting machine on the far right at 17 yrs old.

AL :

I enlisted in the Army in 1973 and spent 12 yrs in the 5th Special Forces group at Fort Brag NC, Then spent a few yrs as a nuclear weapons specialist in Germany during the height of the cold war, I finished my career as a CSM for an MLRS Artillery Battalion during Desert Storm 1990. I retired in 1995 at Fort Sill Ok.

Say hello to my little friend, a 52 Mega ton short range Nuclear missle, Southern Germany.

AL

I served in Operation Enduring Freedom (Afghanistan). My father & ex-father-in-law are both Vietnam Veterans (recon). Ex-husband served in Bosnia. I have an uncle and a couple of cousins who were (are) in the Navy.

I got to go on a tour of the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, visited the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall with my father and visited the Bastogne, Luxenbourg Cemetery several times (General Patton is buried facing his men, it's an amazing military cemetery). I am listed in the Women in Military Service monument in DC.

I was stationed at the Pentagon just 18 months prior to being rammed by the plane and knew some that was there that day.

To say the least, Veteran's Day is an important holiday to me and I would like to say thank you to all my fellow veterans.

In addition, I would like to extend a thank you to all of their families who love & support them during and after their service.
