Yeah!!! my first marans.

Its not as dark as I have seen but I think its cool. Much smaller than I thought it would be. The biggest light colored egg is from my asils.The smaller beige eggs are belgian quails and of course the button quail egg. Wow those buttons must be tiny when they hatch.

Has anyone hatched any of them. Whats the incubation time?
I was surprised to find out that what I had heard about the dark color washing off. On the other side of the marans egg was some poop and when I scrubbed it off the dark brown came off to.

!I had just listed the marans on craigslist ,now I don't know if I want to get rid of them or not! Some one in my town listed a trio of necked necks! Tempting.

Henny Tell Mike we're rooting for him. Hope he is careful tomorrow,sounds like those pole may be frozen,hopefully not icy! Wow I looked Chikasha up on the map and you will be right in amongst the auction goers! You better look for a place with a BIG chicken yard!LOlGreat news about the nursing home too.
