HEY! Slightly Cracked CONGRATS on the huts. That's a great idea. I'm going to the Cement Auction this evening and will have about 20 of those - some are red, some are blue, and some are green.

I didn't think of making shelter from them....I was going to 'tout' them as being something you can bury in the ground to make a duck 'pond' out of or to hold feed or something!

I'm also going to have loads of 5 gallon buckets with lids and an assortment of other supplement buckets with lids (from what the horses eat), but they are great for hauling warm water to the pends, oyster shells, and other supplements for poultry. I will have a few cages for sale and possibly some lavender guineas and a couple of Dominique Roos.

Hubby announced the other day!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have to down size. He is tired of having a following when he is outside. The deal we made is I downsize and he will build more coops for the ones I keep. I probably have about 50 or so I am going to sell off. They are coming up to laying soon. Send me a PM if interested. Some have my number give me a call!!!!

Just off the top of my head I have Buckeyes, JG, Polish, Modern game, Leghorn, Orp's, Brahamas, Silkies, bantam cochins, OEG's, Red sex link, Black sex link, EE's oh gosh that is what comes to mind right now. I also have about 40 mallard ducks to sell off.

I didn't just inquire about more chickens did I???

I didn't think of making shelter from them....

If you decide to make huts out of them don't cut the lip, make the opening about three inches down in a circle shape. Use the circle to make the overhang by making a slit above the opening and slide the circle into it. I would love to post a picture but dial up kills me. I will send a picture to someone if they would post it for me. PLEASE!!

Just went out and did pm chicken chores.... I should have gone to the cement auction and getten rid of some of these danged roos... Luvs since you are downsizing I don't think you need 2 more roos. They are plaguing my poor hens to death with their teenage antics. I want to get more hens in the spring... I have about 28 hens... and 6 roos... am thinking about culling. Still haven't received my machete...though I ordered it on the 18th.... I am going to call them up and kick up a little Oklahoma red dirt on 'em. Supposed to be some big army/navy store in Manhattan that all the big stars shop from. Thye have been giving me the run around and every excuse in the book.

The weather was so nice today.... I was up all night with my Mom so I slept today... stupid move shoulda been out in the weather. Please don't tell me that Cement was awesome?

Y'all should've gone to the Cement auction to sell roosters. They were selling for around $8 or more each until the end of the auction were they went for $2-3 each. We took some Ameraucana roosters there & only got $2.25, but we were near the end of the auction. Gerald thought we should have POd them but the one was not coming back home with us .... it flogged me today for the last time!

Nice bantam chickens were selling for $10 on up. Rabbits sold for around $10, a pair of red golden pheasants $45 or more each (I think).

We bought quite a few pens & A frame huts for cheap and bought a frizzle turken rooster! I'll have to take some pic's & post them tomorrow! I've got to brag on the purchases we made! I can't believe how low the prices were on what we bought!

We would have bought more, but were low on cash & not enough room. I've got some birds that'll be tickled with the pen upgrades we bought them.

There were a lot of outdoor pens there at the auction & prices on cages & pens went WAY LOW because a bunch were brought from a game rooster sellout.

The only BYC Okie we recognized was Jerry ... not sure what his user id is. Thanks Jerry for helping us load up the truck! We couldn't have done it without you ... we owe you! Everything stayed on the truck, too!

This weather! Yesterday, 80 something and wearing shorts. Today, 30 degrees? Poor animals outside. Honestly, over 50 degrees difference. All I'm asking for is a little consistency...

Tell me about it. BRRRRRRRRRRRRR:he

I need to go out and see exactly what I have that I am going to sell. It is kinda hard to count them with all of them running around. On the mallards, I really dont have very many females I have about 20 or so males. I do know ALL the bantams are for sale.

Somehow the pen door to our peacocks was open today ... 6 dead peacocks & 3 injured or tramautized. None of my dogs were around the pen, so I don't know who did it. I'm grieving now

I don't know which dog did it ... it could even have been one of the pyr pups, I guess, which makes it all the worse, since they are supposed to guard my birds. All of my dogs go into the pens with me occasionally when I feed, except for Gerald's old australian shepherd mix. He's the unpredictable one ... but I can't say that he did it. I'm just so upset .... we hatched most of the peacocks from eggs or bought them as chicks just recently, and all were less than 6 months old.
