Are you buying or selling the Cement?

You should have a stand up act @ the next gathering LOL.

Faeri : It's a decent Poultry auction, located in Cement Ok. Starts at 5:00 pm hope to see you there, I go cause it's a relaxing Saturday night checking out what's going on in the chicken world.

It's a might bit chilly up'in here. Might just have to invest in something to keep the chicken water thawed. Thought I had that taken care of... apparently I thought wrong. So. This morning was an interesting morning involving hauling water out to the coops.

The month olds in the mudroom might need more heat though... considering going up a "size" from 75w to 100w bulb, and leaving it at the same height, at least for a little while... wean them down 2 1/2 degrees at a time instead of 5. Don't want to shock the poor things. Still have all 12 that hatched out of the original 42 eggs.

Yes, it was horrific. I had some hens whom had just hatched some eggs about a month ago and another one that just went broody and had given her some eggs too. You can tell that they she tried to stay and protect those eggs, because her blood was all over them. I did meat Betsy and she is so very nice. I learned a lot from her too about the silkies and I am very appreciative for that. I cannot wait to learn lots more. She gave me an incubator to put the eggs in and see if they will make it.

They will more than likely be crosses, but the other ones were also crosses of silkies, cochin (frizzles and non-frizzled), and I was thinking one was a silkie x porcelain D'Uccle (she was so pretty

). So maybe I will have some luck with hatching these on my own. She also told my daughter that she will let her pick out a few of her silkies to show, she is so super kind. And another member offered a few of her Cochins.

I just want to say. I feel so loved by this group! And all of you guys feel like such a great family to me. I really enjoy getting on here whenever I can. I used to just use BYC to learn and gather information, but now after finding this thread it is more to me than just an education, you guys are like family to me. And I cannot wait to meet more of you guys in person. I am hoping I might be able to go Shawnee, but I am still not sure. There is some sort of parade that my daughter is wanting to go to in Norman or something.

THANK YOU!!!!

It was chicken poop from an old commercial poultry operation, and I was only up to my waist. Excuse me if I don't share in your laughter at that situation.
