I am thinking of getting my husband a friendly hen or two or three or four for Christmas. He especially likes buff orpingtons. We have some chickens but his favorites died (old age) and he misses having some with more personality (chickenality?) - that will run to see him, will talk to him, and like to sit on his lap. Perhaps we'll have to just wait 'til spring and raise some more friendly ones - but with all you chicken-lovers out there, perhaps you have ideas for me? I put up a WTB but the buy/sell/trade forums don't seem to be very active any more and besides, it's the friendly part that's hard to really convey and trust people on. We don't even care about the eggs (I have so many pet ducks, eggs are never in short supply) so we are a good retirement home for friendly hens.
