OKCarla, The Prague auction is kinda iffy when it comes to chickens. They bring them in on Friday and it is a swap meet all day and then on Saturday they auction what is left. I know a guy who helps out there and he told me alot of the poultry there is sold before it ever gets unloaded.
You can check out some earlier posts on here but there are a lot of poultry auctions. There is one in Cement, Maud, Harrah, and many iothers scattered around. The maud and Harrah one is weekly. Maud on Thurs. nites and Harrah on Sat. evenings. Cement is the first Sat of each month

Presently I am hatching out some of OKCarla's Spitz eggs and all of them look darn good! Cant wait to see them hatch next week....what a LONG wait I had to endure!

Darn, Carla, if I got room in the Inn, I would have taken your Spitz roo and he would not have any mates except for Hamburg Bantam hens I got running at my friend's farm. Not sure if he would be too big for them.

Yes I know Bill Braden, I actually just met him this past weekend. He is kinda a neighbor to me. I aquired some cuckoo maran eggs from him, that is in the incubator right now! I cant wait til they hatch. I moved about 3 years ago and am just not getting started with chickens again. I use to raise buff orps and speckled sussex. Now I want to try the cuckoo marans, silkies, and some blr wyandottes. Does anyone in Oklahoma have silkies for sale? I would be interested in some Apenzeller Spitzhauben Chicken Hatching Eggs but the auction on ebay is for 12 I would only want maybe 5 or 6. I plan on going to the poultry sale in Chouteau on Friday night. Anyone else going?

Graceful, I know it wouldn't be too much help but I could bring a roo from Carla as far as Henryetta and you could meet me there. Are you sure you can't figure a way to make the Newcastle show?


Chickenhead: I have never met Bill but I have talked to him on line. Nice guy! Everyone I have talked to that has met him loves him. His chickens are top notch. I am going to the Harrah auction, much closer to me.

Hey Montyis the Harrah auction every week I know you have said before but I can't remember. I think I will ask hubbie for trade off cause he is going to be busy Friday morning. So maybe next Saturday we could go.

My young spitz roosters are $4 each. I could mail a dozen plus extra eggs for $20, priority mail. If you have a way to pick them up though, I can sell for $10. If you're going to the Newcastle show next week ... I just live about 10 miles away from that & I could meet you there with a handsome young rooster & some eggs.


Monty, would you be interested in trading some Jersey Giant eggs? I'd love to get some unrelated birds. Trade for some 6 week old blue, black or splash roosters?


I also will have eggs from some really nice silkies from SQ bloodline. Mixed colors ... none are separated right now.

Some day, I should hopefully have some eggs from my white guineas, and my call ducks too.

Good morning, and happy Valentine's Day! I woke up at 7 this morning to long and loud chirping coming from my incubator!

No visible pips yet, but hopefully by the time I finish my day they will be nice and fluffy in the bator.
