Hey Chickenhead, not sure I welcomed you to the board!

I'm not sure what colors I want. I would like a variety of colors... I will have to think about it.

Grace, will you have any d'Uccle eggs available anytime soon? I'd like to hatch some more of them, since I've got... Well, almost have one. *ha*

Oh, well don't worry about it! There's no big rush, and I forgot you had started incubating. I know your hatch will turn out better than mine, since they won't be tramatized. *haha*

I directed Daisy this way, hope they made it!

Still no escape for my chick. He's tryin really hard though! I just can't believe the poor little thing is going to have to be alone for a couple weeks. Atwoods gets chicks pretty soon, maybe I'll pick out a couple Silkie buddies for it.

country if you end up with a lone chick and if any of these 3 eggs hatch I could give you a chick or loan you a friend I had no idea how much work was a lone chick was until 3 weeks ago, and the noise oh my when my lone chick was hearing the next batch in the hatcher peeping they talked all night and were loud!! I put new chick in brooder first thing next morning. I could meet you in MInco cause I need to go get chick feed in the next few days however I am not sure any of these 3 are gonna hatch today is 21 and so far nothing at all.

My first lone chick was the same way! His toes were curled very badly, he'd been in the egg too long. So he had to stay in a separate box next to the others. He would stumble everywhere trying to find the other chicks.

Luvz, what kind are you hatching? I called Atwoods, they JUST now got their chicks in. I'm going to go by and check them out later this afternoon, see if there's anything I'm interested in. They couldn't even tell me if the bantams had feathered legs or not.

I ended up helping my lone chickie escape. The shell had separated from the membrane, and the membrane wasn't attatched to him, but he couldn't break it because it was dry. He's doing really well though.

I will get a picture of him after he's all fluffy.

I picked him up two buddies from Atwoods. They didn't have any Silkies, I was dissappointed. But here's a pic of the two I got:

Any idea what they might be? I thought the gray one was a Blue Cochin, but now I'm thinking its probably a Light Brahma. The other doesn't have leg fuzzes. Any ideas???

Hey all....going to sell at auction all of my bantams.I have one white cochin,2 black jap, some oegb........let me know if interested in them before sat night....I will try and get you some pictures.........

If anyone is looking for silkies, I have some in my incubator that should hatch in another few weeks. Also, I may be putting some more eggs in the incubator tomorrow ... I had an auction end on ebay and the buyer still hasn't paid & it's been 2 days now. Anyway, my newly hatched silkie chicks will be $3, and the price goes up when they get older. I just sold some month old chicks for $5 each. I've got most colors of silkies but my birds are all together in a room in my barn. I haven't separated them by color. My birds came to me as hatching eggs from 6 different breeders from all over the country and are supposed to all be from show quality stock, including hatrick lines.

I don't know how to add a picture of my silkies to this site

but there is a picture of them on my next ebay auction

Oh, and my boyfriend and I are hoping to attend the Harrah auction this Saturday night, if the weather isn't too bad. Does anyone know if the auction is held indoors? I sure hope so!

cammie: The brown lone ooks like a brown leghorn I don't think it is a Welsummer but could be. Might even be a standard OEG. The blue one could be an Andalusian or an Ameracauna.

Carla: The chicken part of the auction is indoors but it isn't necessarily warm in there. Seating is at a premium. If they cancel due to weather I'll let you know. I plan to call one of the guys around noon and see what he says.

Cammie, cute little chickies

I think the "gray" one is a Blue Cochin and the "chipmunk" one is an Ameruacana (Easter Egger).
I'm wondering if part of your egg problems were humidity...

Welcome, Poultryand Bees

Cammie sorry it took so long to reply I am hatching (or not hatching) blue cochins. This was a staggered hatch and all the begining hatches were fine, I may go into the eggs tomorrow and see there were a couple of low temps but back up to normal quickly so I just don't know.

Welcome to all the new OKIES on here.
