Sounds like I don't need to worry about finding time to attend the Noble auction any time soon. I still haven't been to the Blanchard auction either. I may have to try that one this Spring.
This year, I am going to limit the quantity of chickens I raise for eggs, to the number that I can keep within a 50x50 yard and one hen house. In the past I have allowed the chickens to free range on a couple acres of pasture, but this year I am putting in a garden that I don't want the chickens to see. I don't think the guineas or turkeys will hurt the garden too badly, but chickens decimated my turnips and tomatoes a few years ago. They pecked large holes in the top of the turnips that were above ground. I was surprised that the chickens liked the turnips as well as they did.
I want to grow some produce for the express purpose of feeding it to the chickens, but I think it only fair that I get to decide when they eat it.
