If this is the case it is not un common for the mother to begin rejecting one of the babies and in doing so in front of any other goats will in a sense cause that kid to be an outcast... You will have to bottle feed supplement if it appears she is being rejected other wise she will have a failure to thrive mentality, I am not a vet but have been around livestock enough to know that sometimes one must intervene and you may end up with a bottle baby and will have to separate..

If you do separate I can only suggest that you could try and keep the separation by mere fencing but using fencing that the goats can still see one another so that the kid is not a mere "newbie" to the group so when the kid is older and big enough to be with the rest of the herd it wont be to tramatic for introductions and well the established order of the herd...

also because goats are very socialable creatures try and place them with another animal that it will bond with if that is possible

Just now getting back thankyou so much i just dont understand why the mother would reject her, and we are making her feed it and there is 2 other babies it can play with. we seperate them for a few hours and then put them back with their moms .She knows to hide from them even tough she was just born saturday. We will make sure she is where they can see her so its no suprise. Thanks so much for your help.

While feeding and watering everything today, I was thinking of screen names for Teach. Here are some additional suggestions:

5) Notes spoil the fun of hatching

7) Trees? Not where I live.
8) Facinated by snakes.

I helped my son with his homework( he isnt very good at math, had to redo 2 pages of work) earlier for 45 minutes and I am exhausted.... I dont remember it being that tiring when I was in school... This is just aweful.

Carl usually helps him with his math, I was always really good in math, but through the years so much of this stuff I cant remember. I always have to reteach myself before I can help the kids, I always tell them show me where you are and what you are doing then give me your book for an hour then i can help you... Anyhow, Carl and i do math very differently but here lately everytime he help Brandon with his work the poor child get the same grade as if he had done it himself, and then he still doesnt understand it.. So the other night Carl was too tired to think straight and Brandon was working on multiplying and dividing fractions, so I got voted to help. My poor child didnt have a clue( and I firmly believe some people are not meant to teach math... It can be an easy or difficult subject depending if you understand it....This is my third child to have this teacher and everyone of them have struggled to understand what she is teaching them)..... Any way, I started working with him and within the first few he started to understand it enough to do it in his head without having the long process of writing all the steps out. His first paper didnt have the steps on it and he made a 98 on it(we forgot to put dogs at the end of a word problem answer).... His 2nd paper I helped him with was a 90something, and then his teacher marked of until it was a 49 for not showing his work... Now I dont care if she wants him to show his work or not, we can do it either way, but why 1 paper was fine and the next wrong is beyond me!


I will probably be the one helping him most of the time from now on since he is understanding it with me.... Like I told him it is not up to you to understand my way, it is up to me to teach it so that you understand it.
