Are you guys chatterboxes or what. I am bleary eyed from trying to read all of the posts. Less than a week ago we were almost 1000 posts behind Kentucky and now it is ab little over a hundred.

Marybeth it was good seeing you, wish we could have visited more I talked to NNbreeder a little bit too.

We finally finished basetball last night. My nine year old son's team won two exciting games back to back to win the tournament and finished the year 15-1.
I took him to the Backwood's outdoor show and then to the gun range today to celebrate. We killed a bunch of paper targets.

Carla's turken eggs sold really well at Jones. I don't remember how much but she did well with those.

Teach, What is your Supt.'s name. I used to love to watch Hardesty play at the big house.

Welcome to all of the newbies I will get an official welcome out to you guys and get you on our list.

I am sad I missed Hennies party list. But maybe next year.

Stimpy. You got an extra white rock roo? A guy I talked to tonight is looking for one.

I heard Memphis got 13 inches of snow today. Is that crazy or what?

We are still having POOPS on the 25th of April but I haven't finalized the site yet.
Been a few issues come up. If I can ever talk to the actual owners at the KOA, I hope to get POOPS finalized. They are vacationing abroad and haven't been available.

Ok my chattering is over for now.
Good night all!
Monty

Hi Carla, It was great seeing you guys tonight. Jones was way down.
Lots of roosters and just a few hens. Some of the stuff went high though.
I think I will sell all of my chcikens and take a world cruise. I can always start over from scratch.

We had a whole tray of eggs hatch today in the cabinet incubator. I got lazy and just left them in the plastic hatching racks instead of putting the eggs in the pulp egg flats. Big mistake! I think the pulp flats keep the chicks from getting too wet when hatching. We came home from the auction and opened the incubator to rescue the newly hatched chicks. Lots of very wet chicks in there and the hydrometer showed 80% humidity. I try to keep it at 65-70% when they hatch. Still another couple of dozen eggs that haven't hatched yet, but the eggs are barely pipped & I could here peeping. Hopefully they didn't/don't drown in there! I moved the remaining eggs to a pulp flat & put them back in the incubator. I sure hope I didn't doom the remaining chickie babies!

Ahhh and I forgot to mention, it was great to see Monty and Lisa and Les and Teva and Marybeth and Dean and ... and I think that was all the BYC Okies I saw at Jones!

And then, it was great to see Kacee (sp?) and Misti and Jerry & well, there may have been more Okies at the Blanchard auction but it was so crowded, I probably missed some of them!

Oh, and at the Blanchard auction, they have fresh hot popcorn! Mmmm mmmm good! and at the concession stand, they had homemade chocolate cupcakes!!! Had to have seconds on them!

Well folks, my baby pullets are doing great, they are eating and drinking good, if I can keep my daughter out of them they may make it, I like having them in the living room, I can hear them cheeping and like to watch them play, if they all make it, I will be looking for a good Brown Leghorn rooster this summer and a Buff Orp also, I have a SL Wyandot already and may have a RIR out of some eggs under a hen, have an EE cock so that won't be a problem, but that is assuming the ARE ALL pullets, I have noticed more interst in chickens myself in the last couple of years and with the economy and everyone worried about their food, I think we will see even more interest in the future, this is great as I love chickens and like seeing people interested in them. Lynn

Now I must brag on my DH .... he just made bacon & eggs for me

Gerald even tried to convince me to bid on some slate guineas at the Blanchard auction that I showed him ... as if we don't have enough guineas already! I did consider it, because I've never actually seen that color variety before. We have lavendar, and pearl, and white, and one buff dundotte boy, but no slate guineas. We do NOT need more birds!

I want to sell out and take a cruise too Monty! If only I could talk Gerald into it. But then again, I am a bit attached to some of my chickens. I'd miss a few of them.

Well, I did my best to make enough posts to catch up with Kentucky, but I'm running out of things to say. I guess it's time for me to stop for the night

Oh but we did come home to the smell of skunk on 2 of my great pyrenees.

I'm just hoping the dogs convinced the skunk to move on down the road. I like lots of critters, but there's a few that I'd rather not meet.

Good Morning Okies.....

All this talk about building coops, I am going to have to get busy. I had 11 out of 13 hatch and one died in the shell. They are in a box now with a light and I have to build a pen for them yet. Oh well, by the time they are old enough I should have something for them.

oh don't temp me with craig's list rabbits, We've already ordered to many chics this year!! And I wasn't paying attn, my due date will be right at slaughter time for the broilers we bought

What was I thinking??

Thanks for sharing what you did with the shed. I actually have been eyeing pallets and fence panels all over town since the tornado (I think they decided it was a tornado and not just winds) came through there is a bounty everywhere!! But I can't convince DH to go knocking on doors and I'm too preg to move them so I guess we will miss out this year. Our current coop and run cost us about $30, mostly screws and hinges are all we had to buy, but its only meant for about 4, so we need to go much bigger....

All this incubator talk wants me to try hatching my own next year, sounds like fun.

Okay, here's a Q that could probably add 100+ posts to the thread. What feed do you use, how much is it, and where do you get it?? I'm having a hard time finding nonmed feed in OKC and surrounding area so just curious what ya'll do....

I may have missed the first good morning of the day but I'm helping to get our posts up. So:

Hope all Okies are having a dandy good morning!

Grace, how did your eggs turn out. Did you have late pippers?
