Hey we doing Pizza tonight or what? tee hee

Burning is going well have one pile of brush burning down and will be picking up the house here after I go check on our babies in the shop..

So far since we moved Raffle(duck) and the last and only mallard duckling we have from our hatchery order from inside the shop to the shop pen we built under the loafing shed they are both fairing well and seem happy we have them interacting with the FOO FOO POOP birds we acquired. Our white crested Dr Seuss ducks have begun laying us an egg each day.. tee hee

Hey Sugarpop, how y'all doin?

-Stimp-

Yo Stimpy! All is well at Casa CityClucks. I'm enjoying the pastoral sights and sounds in my backyard: chickens grazing in the unmown grass; terriers pursuing untamed tennis balls; the soft "crunch crunch" of whatever it is that's eating my cabbage plants...

You should be here! I have a truck and trailer load of stuff to be unloaded and put away, and a mini-schnauzer yapping like a house afire. But, like most other emergencies at my house, they can wait til tomorrow.

Hey back, and thanks for your service. BTW I have fished the Mountain Fork many times myself. It is truly a beautiful area. Did we cross paths in the corps?
Take care,
Stew and K9 partner Ajo...

Who knows? Were you in Vietnam? I was also at Okinawa, Pendleton, El Toro, and Lejeune.

This was my first trip to the Mountain Fork, but it won't be my last.

-Stimp-

Nope, didn't make the first two but was at the last three. Desert Storm was my war.

Were you an 03 by chance? Did you get your CAR?

Hope everyone is enjoying the nice weather. My pens are drying up, and I thought my hens were too until I found the lumpy bull snake sleeping next to the Speckled Sussex pen. The pen is made from a 10 X 10 chain link dog kennel with 48" tall 1" hex netting around the base, so I guess the egg thief climbed over the height of the hex netting. Wouldn't you know it, this was the day I got five eggs when I usually only see two or three. One lump per foot of snake looks really creepy. I had the urge to grab the egg napper by the tail and squeeze until I got the eggs back. He must have heard the wheels turning in my head, though, as he woke and decided to leave by way of the back pasture. DH is going to be miffed that I didn't get a picture for his next Face book entry.

i understand both sides of the argument, i understand that for those who are less able then others it allows them to access some of the sights and areas. But i also have a house down there and since they started restricting certain areas it doesnt sound like i am ringside at one of those lumberjack competitions.

Did you grow up in that area?

-Stimp-

no, southside of OKC, i just have family down there. My dad grew up around there he was born in Dequeen Arkansas because that was the nearest hospital to Broken Bow. We go back several times a year to see family or just enjoy the scenery we also go to the fall festivals around those parts. we use to camp on the north side of Broken Bow lake (to avoid the tourists) during the summers, havent done that since i was a kid. But whether or not i was born there doesnt matter its in the blood, it will always be home.

And for those of you who say that there are not any mountains in southwestern Oklahoma, let me roll you down one of em and get back with me afterward

....So there we were, my wife and I were out by the Buckeye coop, concreting in some post for the run....and then it happened.
We heard the most weird sound we have ever heard before...(And having been in Iraq twice, let me tell you I have heard a noise or two).....then we figured it out!
One of our cockerels has started to find its voice. It sounded like a sick toad being ran over...

But it was trying with all it had to answer the adult crow of some roos we have.
If it wasn't for the rain we've been having lately I would have had the run completed last weekend...The gang is definitely ready to be let out and explore the world (of their run. to many critters out here day and night to allow any free ranging.

I all but grew up in Rattan. I still have kin in that area too. I've hunted and fished and camped all over that area for almost 50 years now, including 40 years in a row. Since the days before Weyerhauser, when it was Dierks Timber. Back then it was jeeps and 2 wheel motorcycles, and then the 3 wheelers came along. Now the 4 wheelers are here and I just bought a new side by side. Who knows what the next step in that evolution might be? The important thing is that there will be a next step and those roads and trails should be left open for them. Sure, there are a few that spoil things for the larger group, but they should be dealt with individually. To place restrictions on everyone who rides the trails in unnecessary and unfair. As long as they are not doing permanent damage to the environment, I say let 'em ride.
