NaNa No No he can't shut it down!!! Does he need more eggs!lol. I'll bet you will be glad so that now you can get in some fishing time. Sounds like the lakes will be full. You all watch that creek behind you if you get that kind of rain!

Donna. Way to go girl! Proud of ya!

Slight dilemma here. I'm going through chick starter at a more prodigious rate than I thought. does anyone know how much a 50# bag will cost at King's supply (D&D in Harrah)? I have enough to get me through to Wednesday (Tomorrow I have too much to do to get to the feed store) and wondered how much I should tell my wife to budget. Thanks.

Just popped in to say hey before I try and hit the sack if the storms will let me, getting some good wet stuff here, and waiting on the DD to get home from her BF's house I told her not to get on the road till I call her when the roads clear some. Well I had a first today while I was feeding I checked on a broody hen that is in the maternity ward and saw a little fluffy body poke out, after almost getting my hand pecked off I checked under her and found another one, It is my first successful broody so I am keeping her, but this was way cool. I have had several try but they never had the gumption to stay on the nest, this one wouldn't quit trying so I set her up a secluded area put some of Laura's Foo-Foo eggs under her and let her have at it, and I'll be dogged she did it.

Well the DD is home and the lightning has let up some so I am headed to the land of Snoring LOL as 5:00am is coming quick, everybody have a safe night.

TJ's Na-Na :

WOW, all of you in central Oklahoma, be sooooo
careful in all that water !!!! Those rainfall totals
are unbelievable. They have had a lot of rain
in Tulsa and several roads closed, but not like
the totals from Oklahoma City.

Is cloudy and grey here, but no rain yet. Will
be a good day to fire up the oven and bake
banana bread.........tons of banana bread.
A friend of Pa-Pas "blessed"(?) me with just
shy of a CASE of bananas............ Will reserve
my "thank you" until I see just how big a
mess this becomes......LOL

Have a load of game chickens hatching today
for a friend of Bill's and then HE IS ACTUALLY
GONNA UNPLUG IT !!!!!!!!!!

Have a good one !

By now, you may have it all baked, but for "next time" I have a few suggestions for how I have made banana bread for more than 30 years. 1) mash the bananas and measure them into the quantity that you normally use in your recipe. Freeze the mashed bananas in plastic ziplock bags, labeled with the quantity and then dump them into the bowl when you are ready to make the recipe. The bananas will freeze well and may turn a little brown, but will be fine in a banana bread recipe. The secret is to smash well so you don't have a lot of air pockets in the plastic bag. OR 2) make up you banana bread recipe and then freeze it in ice cream buckets or cool whip containers - uncooked. Cover the batter with plastic wrap to help prevent freezer burn. When you are ready to bake the banana bread, scoop out enough to fill your pans to the right depth in the loaf pan and stick the rest of the batter back into the freezer. I start the frozen dough - usually in clumps from the spoon I dug it out of the frozen bowl - in a cold oven to help it thaw before it starts baking. When you do it this way, you have "fresh" banana bread each time instead of thawed banana bread - so the outside texture of the bread isn't the clammy texture that I can't seem to avoid when I thaw out baked bread. The unbaked banana bread will keep in the freezer for a year (or longer if it is the kind of freezer that doesn't self defrost)

Is Bill going to unplug the incubator for one week or two weeks?

Talk about some great storms last night eh?! We visited with Doc and Peaches for our normal Monday night Pizza and then headed over to their place where Jason was swarmed by their chickens( ok I kept pelting him with the corn so they would surround him), stayed a while at their place until the storm was getting nasty and we remembered it was now dark and time for us to get our animals in.

Came home will all of the animals respectively in their pens (waiting for the doors to be shut by us) except for James Bond(Tom) and 2 of our turkey hens... One of the hens was perched on the chicken run where the other to decided to go hide out and wait the weather. (To which He and She did as they greeted the girls this morning with a few clicks and chatter for game bird feed)

Tried to watch a movie via our Netflix n Wii but there might be a possibility that when the power went out in our house it surged the Wii(have no idea just know its now not working)...

Its a muddy mess in our front yard since the ground was tore up from having our new septic put in a few weeks ago... hey maybe the ground will level now with all the rain(now only to convince jason NOT to go mud bogging in the front yard)....

Over all we are doing GREAT, How bout you guys..

BTW: Our Giant White and Black chicks are growing it appears some what slowly.... is it true they take longer to grow out than other breeds?

I have buffs for sale!

How much you selling the buffs for?

I might be interested in a few to see how they are... I had thought of ordering chicks but didnt want 25 of them if they ended up not being the breed I would actually like...
