arsyrobin- sjarvis has used the pour on ivomec before she says it works great. We bought some to use but haven't gotten around to dosing everybody yet. You can use liquid seven dust to spray the coop.

OK, I'll get some payday.

I started a poultry art website, and need folks to see if it loads for you, its just the first page for now, if it works then i can add links to you and others if they want..

My husband mixes Permethrin in a sprayer and sprays the coops, roosts and everything periodically. Even uses it in the dog pen. Its seems to work really well and does not harm our chickens or the dogs.

Wow ! the tooth is gone!Yipee!! And after two whole pain pills so is most of the pain! Boy that was the worst after extraction pain I ever had,or any other pain for that matter. Mrs Brenda kept doctoring till I was finally able to hold my head up!But it sure feels good not having that tooth there!

Was finally able to go out and do feeding and watering chores. I put all my chicks on purina medicated,it said you could feed it from chick to broiler so I figured it wouldn't hurt anything. Not that much higher than the game bird starter.Had another hen hatch and set two more yesterday.I like these mid year chicks, they seem stronger.

Then even with all the showers I had to water the flowers, they are sure drying in this heat. Sooner I have a whole bunch of yellow squash! hint hint!

Doc you were sure living dangerously with that last staement!lol.Peaches ,I'll bring you a start next Poops!lolBut you have to run interferience!lol

Good evening all~~

Well thanks for all of the kind words--I was able to read along as you peeps posted while I was at work...I have got to get my BYC password reset to one that I know! The original one they gave me when I signed up is nowhere to be found and I have been having problems getting them to reset it. Bummer! Good thing I still have access to everything on BYC by the cookie they deposited on my hardrive when I originally signed up.

Well the barred rock hen died this morning. We still don't know why. She just acted like she was utterly exhausted; couldn't hold her head up for very long and was ruffled and depressed. Her breathing was fine, no rattles or sign of the respiratory problem we dealt with earlier. She had no mass in her abdomen so she wasn't egg bound, and her crop was empty. Any ideas? Anyone?

Fortunately tonight everyone looks hale and hearty. No sign of relapse back to the respiratory sickness either...I am still very worried...like there is something lurking...

Of course, it is minutes before my bedtime, so goodnight in advance!

Hoping that all of you guys are well...by the way...I am still sewing for (hopefully) fall POOPS! teehee!

Hi to everyone who is on at this late hour!

Well I got my shipment of chicks in today from Whelps Hatchery. I must say this is one of the best groups of chicks I have ever received from an hatchery. Even after 2 days in the mail they were all alive and seem to be doing fine. Got 15 Salmon Favorelles and 10 standard partridge cochins. I put a month old partridge bantam cochin pullet in with the babies to watch over them and make sure they know how to eat and drink. Needless to say she is not really very thrilled with me right now, being stuck with 25 baby chicks.

Of course I am trying not to get my hopes up. The last batch of favorelles I got all died before they were very old. I really want these to do great. Have dark brahmas and baby turkeys coming in July. By then the older ones in the brooder will be ready to go into a grow-out pen and I can split the chicks and poults up between brooders.

I here by pledge not to build another brooder for myself this year.

With three 100+ liter size brooders, and an emergency room mini brooder (old covered cat box converted) I should be more then fine on chick space. See how I highlighted "should". Of course I am planning on buying some more turkey poults Friday.

I maybe in trouble with my numbers. Oh well they well all just have to be very friendly with each other.

So now I have my turkey numbers to where I want them and the chickens I want this year, so now all I am looking for is peachicks. If anyone know where or who is selling some please let me know. I want to focus the rest of the season to aquiring peafowl. I know, I know

. Is there a 12 step program I should be joining?

It is nearly 11 and even though I only work 4 hours it is very difficult since I am doing a lot more lifting then I am used to, so I probably need to head to bed. With two in wheelchairs, one with a prostetic leg and having to do all kinds of medical stuff on top of teaching 9 kids. Let's just say it is a hectic time, but since the kids only go three days a week, tomorrow is my Friday.

Hope everyone has a great day tomorrow.
