Ok, it's official...My DW and I are chicken people. not to the scale that you'al are ...yet.

Three auctions and we brought something home each time...Monday we went to 3 different Ag stores for what?...a 'bator of all things! DW has decided that since I'm going to be taking a year long "vacation", and now that she's getting into OEGBs and quail....she needed a way to hatch all the eggs that she's anticipating....

That way she will have a good reason to go down to Flecther and visit Peaches on the 3rd and 5th Saturday every month....Thanks Doc

Just kidding, we're meeting really great folks and are really enjoying the poultry antics

Funchick - Sorry to hear about losing your hens. Sounds like you're doing all you can to provide for them. DH didn't realize robins, sparrows, blue jays, cardinals, etc. could bring diseases to the flock. I try to have a separate bird feeder with lots of seeds in it for the wild birds to discourage them from going into the chicken pens.

Can't keep the mice out, though, and one little guy got eaten yesterday when he trespassed into the red star pen. They fought over him for about a minute, tearing him to pieces in the process. Chickens are not vegetarians.

Peaches may not answer. She is supposed to be on her way out to Ft Sill for us to grab some lunch.
The bator is doing good. We candled last night and about half were a "no-go".
Hope you enjoyed your pizza on Monday. You sure can eat.

Hey Doc whats the good word for the day!Are you off today or just taking it easy at work. Hope its cooled down some for you guys. We are still in sauna mode. Toothaches and sauna don't go well together. Got to run in to the dentist at 3:30. Hate dentist but sure want this thing out!

Have you guys added any new birds lately? SZounds like Peaches is likeing them NNs ,wait till we get her started on bantam nns!lol
