A couple of things I am concerned about is that she has some alergy issues and they will be using that MRI dye method which comes with a ton of warnings and a signed release statement and side effects. Yes her appointment is next week so they jumped on this quickly, and the doctors are the best I can get here.

Morning everyone, as you know we lost the cow, no more chicks hatched yet, have a bunch of signs to paint today for a politician friend of mine, Doc call me if you need a pig before the 4 of July, so we can get things set up, your welcome to come up and see what I have. Lynn

If she has an allergy doctor, you might call and ask if there is any kind of test (skin?) they can do with the dye beforehand to see how she might react. Glad the appointment is next week - I'm sure you'll be getting even less sleep than usual between now and then. Just think though - if she gets her sense of smell back, that will be quite a change for her!

She does have an Alergy doctor and the sensitivity test is also scheduled, I think it will be wonderful if she get's her sniffer back, perhaps she could spend more time in the kitchen with me because smell and taste are closely tied.

Al I hope that everything goes well with you DD, I know I would be worried in your shoes. My prayers for your family that all is well.

City good to see you. My mom wants to know where you got the chairs that I have of yours.

Lil Brother we will be praying for DD. We know how much she means to you and DW.

I have heard that this problem is more associated with females than with males. All of
the patients that have had this disorder have been females.

Morning To All of You!

to you and yours. I can only imagine what you are going through but know we are all here for you, your DW and DD. K?

Taking an easy day myself. Didn't sleep very well last night and just do not seem to get woke up. Maybe I could work on the brooder I am making to sell. Going to go get some bourbon red turkey poults at noon from a guy in Harrah, than after Uli gets home we are going to go to Norman and get a washer and dryer set since our washer crapped out. I am going to see if I can talk him in to going to Passionberry (a frozen yogurt bar)

Well I need to get something done today. You all have a good one!

I hope all is well with your DD. I just had to chime in and say that I had a favorite great aunt who had no sense of smell. When she was 3 or 4 she shoved a purple hull pea up her nose. Never was able to smell again. Since your DD was about that age when she lost it, and we all know how kids are, it's possible that it was an injury that you never knew about.

I would think if it was a tumor, there would have been other symptoms like headaches, vision problems, etc. Sounds more like she shoved something up there and it could still be there, or it could have come out a long time ago, and you just never knew about it. Is the dr she's seeing an ENT? Or just her pediatrician? I would be sure and get a second opinion with an ENT before any kind of surgery or invasive treatment.

Good luck!

Shelly

Hey, Al, sorry to hear you and the kiddo are going through this. There was a concern my youngest had a tumor and I about freaked out about it. Turned out to be a benign cyst that was easily removed from her throat. And I know what you mean about those release papers. My oldest DD needed an MRI when she was 5 and they wanted me to sign that stuff and I said I think I'll pass, since whatever it was that was wrong (don't remember) was fairly minor.

In your shoes I would sign it in a second!

A couple years ago the ear doctor thought I had a tumor because my right ear is swollen in places at the base and my hearing in that ear is so much worse than my left. The MRI showed nothing. I think they want to rule out the worse case before they move to something less, which is good I guess but sure can be scary.

On my ear, I figure I just took one or two left hooks to the side of the head too many back in the day, so I got a little bit of that cauliflower thing going on.

I'm pulling for you guys! Since I'm local let me know if you need anything. You are always there when I need you so it's the least I can do,
