That is awful! People like that don't deserve animals if they can't keep them responsibly. Allowing their dog to run loose after being confronted is the same as killing it themselves. If they really cared about it, they would keep it at home. If you do end up shooting it, it's death will be on their hands, not yours.

its because we are butchering these guys in a couple months... thats why I am going non medicated preferably in their starter feed. normally I would start my normal chicks off on the medicated stuff through one bag... but because these are our Cornish Rock X and will be fat and ready in a few yes we want less medication as possible in their meat and system...

Some people also go with gamebird starter for meat birds, because of the higher protein. That is never medicated, I don't think.

It's hard to find real meat bird ration around here. One reason why I mix my own.

The town's population is less than 150. We have no animal control, no police, and barely a fire department. I am the town's clerk and treasurer. I work alone, in a small office, 4 hours a week. If there is an emergency it takes the Sheriff's department an hour or longer to respond. The quietness is nice, but sometimes the ruralness is the pits.

I had to switch to the laptop, because trying to post on the cell phone is too difficult. I think that I may have just accidentally "reported" myself because I hit the wrong button while trying to hit the "post reply" button. IF I did that, then I apologize to the moderators

Sorry that might have happened to you P&B maybe you didn't and if you did just tell them you reported yourself to stop enabling yourself lol

On a side note--- my dad is still in the hospital and we found out yesterday that there is yet another leak. This one is small and seems to be contained sort of but they had to take away his food again and put his intestines back to sleep for a few days to see if it will heal itself. If it wont heal itself we will be going in for surgery number 3

PLEASE PLEASE let it heal itself....I'm not sure he could do another surgery.

I backed out of the internet as fast as I could, with that little "updating" wheel spinning. It would just be so ironic that I couldn't get a lengthy written message to post, but the wrong button went through lickety split.

so sorry that your did has not healed as quickly as hoped and that your family is under this stress - prayers are being said.

Thanks P&B I appreciate it more than you know. As far as the family being under stress it is mostly just me dealing with everything...his fiance isn't up there as much as I am and she has no control over what happens to him regarding medical care....I've had to jump all over the nurses, hospital and his doctor twice now....I don't like doing that at all...I'm not a confrontational person and I try to live my life in balance....but right now I feel like I am carrying the weight of the world on my shoulders. My BF has been out of town working to finish up a contract of his during this past two weeks and coming home on the weekends....so my chores at home are doubled right now and add to that my 5 college classes and continually being at the hospital along with still having to keep up the house and laundry....I am beyond by threshold right now. I have a pen that needs finished and a coop to build before winter and so stress is my middle name right now.... Ok rant over....Thanks for listening.
