my mom always swore by getting local bee pollen from the healthfood store, eat a spoonful a day and it will build up a resistance to local allergies- i don't have allergies so i can't vouch for it, has to be local pollen though

Well if it was me I would go ahead and build a fence on your property line and if it goes threw what they thought was their property I would polietly refer them to the survey and continue to build. If they get nasty I would say well all this was easily avoidable and keep building. I hate it when people are nice to your face and then stab you in the back like this.

Good morning all from tennessee! Quite cool here this morning too. And the dew was terrible. My fwwt were soaked just walking around the yard checking on the pens this morning.I let some out to free range today. they haven't been out for a while so are really enjoying it. Hope the hawks stay away.
Took 15 chicks from their mommas last night and put them in a brooder. They will stay warmer that way.

BarnS I agree with Ivy,I would make putting up fence a priorty and put it on the line.Do you have a friend that maybe can take your birds till the fence is up?Otherwise just confine them to what pens you have and just keep a watch on them so they have plenty to eat and scratch and not get bored to much and they should do okay. Sounds like the fued may be over more than the birds. So show your Okie spirit and give a fight if thats what they want. If you have to just start putting in post first that will get their attention and then you can add wire later.

They have had lots of hayfever problems here to. They said it was the extra growth of vegation this year.

Sooner how is the house comming.?

My husband has insane hayfever allergies, and he is more miserable this year then he has been in several years, we just thought it was b/c he started taking allergy shots. He has been taking them for 1 1/2 years now, but is just up to the normal starting dose for most people, the allergist actually told us He was in the top 5 worst the doc has ever treated. Sorry you feel so bad, Gary can't wait until killing frost brings relief.

The house is coming along great, they should be done with the outside in the next couple of days. The plumber is in there today because he is going out of town & is worried the heat & air guy will beat him! LOL. I think it is funny that each of the contractors want to be the first one's in before the other. I have some clean up ahead of me as soon as those guys are done. Thanks for asking Wayne. I am pretty excited & looking forward to it.

Good Morning all you OKies!

AL glad your bears are doing well. I really havent' watched football this year, for that matter I don't even get to watch much TV.

Last night I was on here and the next thing I know I wake up at midnight with the laptop still in my lap & the BYC still up.

Al can probably verify this but as an electrician we always wanted to be first because then everyone else had to go around us! I'm sure it's the same for all crafts. Everyone wants the path of least resistance

mjgigax - I've had severe allergies all my life to everything from dust and pollen to evergreens and any animal with fur or feathers. My mother-in-law owns three cats and a two-hour visit to their house would leave me wheezing and itchy. My doctor put me on omnaris nose spray and claratin as long-term maintenance medications and I can honestly say that I am surrounded by nearly everything that I am allergic too and none of it bothers me. As an added bonus, the inhaler she gave me for emergencies makes me run like the wind for the yearly fitness test the army makes me take.

BarnSwallow - I'm sorry your neighbors are being hateful. You might consider being the one to contact them first, rather than waiting for them to come to you. It would give you the advantage of being prepared for the conversation and possibly catching them offguard. You might get a more honest answer out of them if you don't give them the chance to prepare some bogus story that they might try to hide behind. Push them out of their comfort zone, most people talk a good game behind your back, but can be backed down pretty quick if you take control of the situation and confront them before they are ready for it. If they get loud, stay quiet, and if they get emotional, stay calm. It helps them to calm down and they will feel dumb for losing their cool and would be more likely to work something out.

I just tried to do that and I swear I literally thought I was dealing with someone other than who I thought was a kind friend neighbor... she got seriously all crazy on me and started accusing my son of things and I told her well you know I am really sorry but obviously this neighbor relationship trust is broken.

I am like dumbfounded at what just transpired

We have been being seriously entertained w/ insect football!!!!!! They will grab and run and all the others will chase her w/ the bug while there are still more untouched bugs. So far we've tried hoppers, flies and grubs they love them all. They have even caught a couple of flies on their own. When I swat a fly I will carry it to their pen on the swatter, well almost all are afraid and run to the far corner except one, she recognizes that is where the tasty flies come from so she runs to the swatter and eats it right off. Other treats are almost as fun to watch, I think we love treat time more then they do! lol:gig
