Teach ~yes the Chinese owls can feed their babys
It's the short beaked Budpest that can't you have to have feeders for those.
The budpest i have are the long beaked ones.

This Breeder had Pygmy Pouters but he only brought one pair.
They were amazeing how erect they stood and very small.

Here's how my day went:
Get up at 5:30, leave at 6:00, get to the Idabel poultry show at 7:45, have birds ready to be judged by 9:00, do showmanship at 9:30, watch birds being judged until 12:45, have awards ceremony at 1:00, and head home. That was my day...... well, a simplified description of it

Except for my two Call Ducks (who got 2nd), all my birds got at least Reserve Variety! I even got a Class Champion with my LF Blue Ameraucana

I also tied for Reserve Over All Champion in showmanship

Possibly the best news of the day is that I got 11 new birds

There was a nice elderly gentleman who was getting out of the Old English Game Bantams, and at a price I couldn't refuse..... so, I got all 5 pairs

I am only keeping a trio or so, and the rest are going to the sale. The 11th birds I got is a gorgeous Blue Silkie Rooster to make a pair with my favorite little Blue Silkie pullet. I got the Silkie from "Hissy Fitz Farm".
I also got to meet and visit with BYC members - Cuban Longtails, rodriguezpoultry, and gritsar.

Ok kiddo's spent to much time here and now Hubby is "throwing" firewood into the fire place. I guess he wants "wife" time. I guess I will go watch some dumb movie we have ALREADY seen and made sure it was DUMB all the way thru it to the end.

Oh well makes him happy and he keeps building.

14 Old German Shield Owls
9 White fan Tails
6 Valencia Figurita's
6 Chinese Owls
6 Budapest Tumbler
4 Jacobins

I will be getting some White Figurita's in 2 weeks and possibly a pair of Pygmy Pouters.

Side note i also have 38 Ring neck doves

Goodness, is it muddy out there! Good thing I had on hubby's old work boots. I took a heat lamp out to the coop and hung it up and tossed a bunch of pine shavings out hoping that the birds might be able to get a little dried off and warm. The ducks loved it of course. I feel better knowing that they might be able to get a little warm and dry tonight rather than mucking around in the mud.

Watching COPS now with the hubby and keeping up with ya'll! I'm such a fantastic multi tasker!

Go FIGURE Only in Oklahoma will it like Monty said............ snow rain be windy (well heck that is normal almost every day except when in it 110 out) and the SUN shine. It is 730 and the SUN is shinning now.

The hubby quit throwing firewood around so I sneaked back into here to get on the computer. WELL I am checking on the chicks and the incubators. Might see if I can find some spiders for him. HMMMMMM maybe not he knows how I hate snakes so he may pay it forward. He knows better I WILL leave home because of a snake.

I am back with more questions. I just had another hatch, it has been pipped most of the day and when it finally zipped and broke free the neck seems to be an odd shape like it is having a hard time straightening it out. I also have two others that have been pipped since this morning, I can see the beak and that they are breathing. I should continue to just watch huh?

And someone said something about building a new smoker. Here's a tip: Using plywood might seem like a good idea, but it isn't. Build it out of metal. I thought I had a pretty good design but I guess I was wrong.

So lets just say if a person was cutting back, would said person sell his Welsuumers, Cuckoo Marans, Gold Campines, Red Naked Necks, OEG's, the special project chickens or the collection of special roosters that have no special hens?
