If they have the double NN they will have no feathers on their neck or very few. If they have the NF gene then they will have the bow tie.

Let's see if this works, Monty.

1. Copy and paste the following line into Post 1 - perform step 2 before you click Submit. (you can look at it in Preview to see if it works)

CLICK HERE FOR THE OKIE ROLL CALL[/url ]nn2. Okay - now here's the important part: notice that there is a space at the end of the line above? It's between the "[url/" and the closing bracket. Remove that space so that those last characters are: CALL

If my instructions are correct, you should get the following link: CLICK HERE FOR THE OKIE ROLL CALL

Anyone know what will come from a blue crossed with a mottled. Might be an experiment! could be an interesting looking bantam cochin.

I don't know if this will help you but it is what I have saved on blues taken from different breeders here on the BYC:

Blue X Blue does not give 100% Blues
Actually this is the way their matings go:
Blue X Blue = 50% Blue, 25% Black , 25% Splash
Blue X Splash = 50% Blue , 50% Splash
Blue X Black = 50% Blue, 50% Black
Black X Black = 100% Black
Splash X Black = 100% Blue
Splash X Splash = 100% Splash

Only way to hypothetically get 100% Blue, is to do Black X Splash.

silkied splash x silkied splash = 100% silkied splash

silkied splash x smooth black = 100% smooth blue, carrying silkie gene

silkied splash x smooth blue = 50% blue, 50% splash, with 100% smooth feathered, carrying silkie gene

silkied splash x f1 black = 100% blue, with 50% smooth carrying the silkie gene, 50% silkied

silkied splash x f1 blue = 50% blue, 50% splash, with 50% smooth carrying the silkie gene, 50% silkied

f1 blue x f1 black = 50% black, 50% blue, with 25% smooth and not carrying silkie gene, 50% smooth but carrying the gene, and 25% silkied

f1 blue x f1 blue = 25% black, 50% blue, 25% splash, with 25% smooth and not carrying silkie gene, 50% smooth but carrying the gene, and 25% silkied

Cross her(Black Mottled D'Ucccle with a black roo = F1 offspring that are black

Back cross a black F1 male to his mottled mother= BC1 offspring which will be black or they will be black and mottled.

Thanks Sooner, I have a blue hen and 4 mottled 5 month old. They may all be pullets so my question may be just wondering. I do have a splash orp. I have been looking for a roo. for her, prefer blue but may have to go with a black and work to blue.

I haven't done blue yet but Monty my twist my arm & get me there. If Les were around he knows more about genetics than most of us. You might even be able to find some old threads in the Breed/showing thread......it's been awhile since I looked that stuff up, I just copy & pasted it to "My page" so I wouldn't have to hunt it down again.

Monty I know you aren't on now but when you do would you PM me Ed's phone number?

Hey Micheal, you should see all my young games now, I'll try to get some good pic loaded up, man I sure have some nice ones coming on, as for the Doms, I ended up with four little stags out of the nine I started with, they look great, can't wait to see how they grow out as for color! Got one pair of BlueRed Toppy/ Hatch? cross that came BlueRed color Pattern, the pullet is leaning towards Lemon Blue pattern. Ended up with two Tennessee White Muffed Toppy stags and Two Pumpkin Hulsey stags and a White Pumpkin Hulsey pullet, Ended up with five Black Sid Taylor pullets and no stags. I guess I'll be looking for some TWM Toppy hens/Pullets and a nice Black Sid Talor Stag/Cock, and need some Pumpkin Hulsey Pullet/Hens, Need a Red Quill Stag/Cock also. Keep an eye open for some of them for me and holler if you find some, Thanks buddy, Lynn
