I got the coolest video yesterday. Egg 101...the folks got a good laugh at it because I got eggs in yesterday as well. Anyways. it is about the egg industry...gives a little history, physiology, and current trends. The physiology was the coolest...it had like a virtual hen reproductive tract thing and it spun around and showed how stuff was happening and such...it was neat! Plus I got silkie eggs! I know I should have gotten some at POOPS! I was being hard headed! Can I kick myself now! So we gotta set this date so I can plan on being there...and we can all start placing orders!

Good Morning all :

I want to extend many thanks to you for your outpouring of friendship and support. We are all ok here a tad bit frazzled but fine, Things are back to normal sort of after many hours of work and clean-up. I am a little choked up at all your offers of help, I know you folks are such a great bunch and you showed it. Anyway I just wanted to say thank you all. Most of our damage was in our coop area with the little ones and the quail, all else held up fine, and some hail damage on my truck LOL, driving 50 mph through baseball sized hail was something out of a movie. To all of you who are wondering the smoker is ok no damage LOL, anyway ya'll have a great day and enjoy what you have that is close to you.

Thanks again

AL

I agree, that is a great little movie! I rented it once for my 4-H Poultyr Club, and the kids really enjoyed it. Did you notice that if you put it in your computer, it has a PDF document of like 30 pages!

Teach- just caught up on the board. Thanks for the spelling correction it is a HUGE downfall for me. I should spell check more often. However, it was spelled correctly it was just the wrong word

This board is such a valuable tool for us newbies thanks for all of your guys/gals kindness and help. I feel like I am taking a new class it should be named Chickens 101. I am reading on sickness, breeds, housing, etc...I guess it is just a new thing to obsess over. For awhile it was pregnancy books, then baby books, then toddler and now I have learned that No book contains all or even most of the scenarios my kids go through. I guess we just have to pace ourselves and PRAY. I should just let God work out the details and it will be okay.

Boy did I need to hear that today!!! Hubby was telling me if I was gonna go hysterical over the incubator every 15 minutes he was gonna throw it in the trash! Not a hobby for the control freak for sure....Sometimes I have to repeat to myself..."They are just chickens... they are just chickens...." salvation does not depend on whether the coop is cleaned twice a day! I am not going to collapse over 42 eggs in the bator... and the danged turner That I paid 50 bucks that I busted my arse off for....that doesn't work....and now I have to remember to turn eggs three or four times a day... along with every other dang thing...lets see Xs or Os?....

Agreed! Surprisingly, the boy is the sweetest of the three. I think "lap rabbit" is what you call one like him
