We live right around by the christmas tree farm. Turn off the highway across from the Cell Phone tower and we are a little ways down the road. We only been here about 2.5 or 3 years. My wife is Wahkeetha Atkeson (Wahkeetha Roach) she is 34 (35 this month) and i am 27. We moved here the year before the BIGGG ice storm that took us out of power for 12 days in January. We are ordering a gqf genesis 1588 today so I can order some Bantam Orpintong eggs. Perhaps next year we will show but for now I need to build a flock. It would be great to go to however, ill have to get off work. I work in Produce here at the Tahlequah walmart.

After all the discussion about self blue OEGs... Mr. Squeaky insisted his photo be posted again... What a ham...! But so sweet.

Hope everyone is surviving the cold snap. Me and the hub are heading for Dallas for the weekend. This thread cracks me up. No one posts for days...then all of a sudden a deluge! (obviously I am speaking of posts, not rain... since it doesn't rain where we live!)

Hennies,
Tell you what, I will trade you some rain maybe even a thunderstorm for Mr. Squeaky.
I can't promise as to when I can send it but I promise as soon as it is available I will send to you. At that point please send Mr. Squeaky my way.
Deal?

I am Chuck Harter and live in Tahlequah. Briggs America to be specific. I have just moved back here after being gone for 12 years. I used to show around OK 13-14 years ago. I see a lot has changed.
Currently, I have NO chickens and have been chickenless for 12 years now. Now that I am back and have the room, I am wanting back in. There is just something so very wrong when I walk outside in the morning and do not hear cocks crowing. It just aint right, but I have been saying that now for 12 years.
Time to do something about that.
Chuck

OK, It doesn't matter to me where we have the get-together. Lake Thunderbird and Blanchard are each about the same distance from me and they each have their own good and bad points. Thunderbird may not let us have a swap and sale afterward, but the boat rides at Blanchard won't be nearly as much fun.

I can hook you up with a young mans number who is selling some birds. I bought a good looking banty Roo and a Silver laced Wyandotte from him last week. The wyandotte has been laying almost every day until this realy cold crap moved in. He had some barred rocks, partridge rocks, wyandottes, and what looking like Black australorps. They where 12$ a piece and 8$ a peice for a banty. So for 60$ you can get a good start on laying hens and roo. Just pm me if you want the number.

Edit: The coop by tahlequah lumber usualy starts chick days in Febuary if you want to start out that way.
