Ditto for me too. My mom is in the last stage of Alzheimer's and dementia, and had colon cancer I guess about 10 years ago. It is heartbreaking. My dad refuses to put her in a nursing home, even though she can barely speak now and he has to do everything for her. I honestly can't see how he can continue to do this, since he's in his mid 70's. All I can do is offer Dad moral support and try to spend some time with them a few days a week, which I know is not enough.

KT, hang in there and take care of yourself & Mike too! Just remember ... our time on this earth is just temporary until our journey to ever-lasting life where there is no pain or suffering.

The Jones auction is about 12 miles from the KOA. I don't know if folks plan to go or not. Its starts at 5 pm.

Yep, and the Blanchard auction will start at 3 pm, and it's about 30 miles away.

I'm trying to decide if we'll even go to an auction Saturday evening, since so many people will be attending POOPS. Hmmm ... decisions, decisions!

Morning

It figures that we would have nice weather today while I have to work! We go to our first 4 H meeting tonight. Hopefully I can also work on getting my stuff together for POOPs.

OkCarla & Henny, my heart goes out to you both.

Good morning, Okies
Looks like a beautiful day that is sure to dry up the earth enough that we can dig in the dirt later this week. My hens have certainly had a good time "digging in the dirt" this past weekend. Too bad I don't want a garden inside their pens, where they have plowed it up for me.

Morning all. Yes I read the forecast also and was like ughhhhhhhhh wind and a chance of rain. But like you said Monty, its Oklahoma weather, hang on it will change.

Henny and Carla, our thoughts and prayers are with you and your families.

Sonya glad you are felling better.

Teach glad your life is back to what you call Normal.

P&B my thoughts exactly, where the chickens are would make a great garden. I left my garden open last fall and winter so the birds did help a little in there. I have 13 mater starts almost read and probably 24+ cukes ready to go. I will get the squash and pepper plants from town. I have the Okra, corn, mellon and bean seeds ready.

Hubby made some really bad choices this past weekend and IF I decide to let him stay he will be doing some MAJOR booty kissing for a while. I just might get that garden done now.

Henny--We know what you mean about Publishers Clearing House. Wifes mother is getting real absent minded, except for publishers, she never misses an offer from them! She is totally cnvinced she is going to be the next big winner because they keep telling her she will be if she just orders one more thing! She is spending all her money on them and doesn't even realize it. We are at wits end. Publishers should not be allowed to send out that crap to anyone over 70 years of age(no offense to those of you over 70!).

We are haveing cold strong winds and clouds today. Birds sure would like some sun.

Unfortunately, we will not be able to make it.

Few things have come up, and its just not possible. Maybe we wont have to wait a full year to do it again?

*Go ahead print me a sticker, slap it on a tree or fence post. I will be there in spirit!

Exercise for people over 50,

Begin by standing on a comfortable surface, where you
have plenty of room at each side. With a 5-lb potato bag in each
hand, extend your arms straight out from your sides and
hold them there as long as you can. Try to reach a full
minute, and then relax.

Each day you'll find that you can hold this position for just a bit longer.

After a couple of weeks, move up to 10-lb potato bags. Then try 50-lb potato bags and then eventually try to get to where you can lift a 100-lb potato bag in each hand and hold your arms straight for more than a full minute. (I'm at this level.)

After you feel confident at that level, put a potato in each bag.

No!! I have a 600 watt electric grinder stuffer, I don't have any problems with air pockets it has a air valve on it. Still took about 5 hours to make it all.
