Unfortunately no, and wouldn't you know it, my Sat there are no auctions. I'll be leaving sometime Wed to NM to go by my mom's on the way back home. She moved out there a couple of years ago to retire. I sent her home with chicks the other day when she was up for my daughter's graduation though.

What I really need is a neighbor like Steph's so that I could make more room/facilities for stuff.

What do ya got?

I'm going to butcher the poop machines, a.k.a. cornish crosses next week and then I can move the young adults in where they were, the teens in the grow-out pen, and that frees up the outside cage for next weeks' hatch after they brood. You guys know the routine.

I'm pushing my luck on that hatch because of the heat but it was my chance to hatch out an asst of 'fun' stuff. HA (hatchaholics anonymous) here I come!

I still have to convince my wife to go to Lexington after she gets home next week. We always need equipment and cages, and I'm weak and stupid so would probably end up taking something live (or in shell form) home.

Sounds good Stimp. If you still have them and don't want them next time we are near i will probably take some.

ke_ben - I always have cotournix and looks like I will have buttons as well. Still not getting much on the bobwhite front...I think two eggs total...not sure what I am doing wrong

I think they are Silver Penciled Rocks. They could be any one of several breeds/varieties. I know what I hope they are, but I don't want to put a hex on the hatch.

And I'm doing well today. Thanks for asking.

They should be starting any minute. No pips or chirping so far.

Donna,
Sure wish I had reconized you!! I saw you over at the chickens, I was eating my burger trying to get away from the dust and wind!! Next time we will know for sure!!
It does sound like several are having trouble with the heat! So far the only thing for me is no eggs hardly. I have two that I have to check on today to make sure they are just molting and not something else.
Hope you have fun at falls creek, my son just got back. Monty just went and you are going! LOL. Have fun.
