Al sorry to hear about your birds.
Man I think most of us know how bad that totally sucks. I got hit by both hawks and coons a couple of weeks ago.
Well Blanchard was fun. We did not stay long, Uli had been up since 2:45 am and worked on the heat all day so we left the auction at around 7:30. Plus I spent all of my chicken money on one bid. Yes as you all may have read from Carla's post I bought 5 baby peachicks. Man I am so addicted to these things.
The funny thing about that is I swore up and down I would never have peacocks. So much for that.
The guy who was selling them is really nice and I had actually talked to him a couple weeks ago about buying some chicks. Small world, huh? If anyone is interested in buying some peachicks I have the guy's number. He is really nice and his birds are really healthy. I got a couple of black shouldered indian blues, an indian blue, a spalding (hoping it is pied) and a white (possibly black shouldered). I did pay $15 each for them but considering I have spent $65 on eggs this year and only have 1 peachick to show for it that is a total bargain. Still hoping to get a few more next year.
I missed out on a some blue splash and barred cochins but I really could not afford them this week. Still looking for some silver laced, black or blue polish crested and partridge or white cochins if anyone wants to part with some. Oh and some blue or black americanas. I have a list of birds I would like to have in my flock, just to make it look pretty.
Well the weather is beautiful out right now so I am going to go play with my chicks, and turkeys. You all have a great night.
