If I would of thought to grab my hunting hat it has a light that lays flat and clips under the bill. Its about 8-10 green led lights and is pretty brite. I was actualy candling eggs at 4am and just let the dog out and she found the possum. I went to see what she was barking at and hollered at the wife to get the gun and keys. The possum was under her van.

Was taking a very LONG nap and I didnt know if I dreamed or not but we got a DOOOOOOZY of a storm hit here. Lightning and Thunder was shaking the house and I barely noticed

we need the rain deffinatly but my timer broke some time last night after 9pm because when I came home my runs were a muddy mess but the chickens were sitting on the beach next to the lakes that I had!!! So the water ran about 10-14 hours before it got shut off

I wish that my electric bill was that cheep I have my own well I was just glad that it didnt burn my pump up!!! Our electric co is just insane our cheapest electric bill through this year has $187!!! And we wont discuss the high end dang near 3-4 times the cheap one!!!!

WOW and here I am complaining about lights being left on and a 200$ whopper lol.

On the plus side, the world has been rid of the silkie eating possum known as dumb face, and all the chickens rejoiced. I was suprised to find him in the trap so soon, it wasnt even totaly dark yet but there he was thinking how lucky he was someone conviently placed the silkie by the entrance to the now empty coop where the slaughter took place the nite before.

Ronnie I feel you pain! I lost another one last night too. I did find out that whatever is getting mine is small. I couldn't find my Hamburg chick this morning but finally did this afternoon while seeing what else I could do to make the pen more secure. It is coming in through one pen then through the slats in the gate to the other pen. The slats are only 2 1/2 to 3". The chicken was too big to be pulled back through. It is also bypassing all the chickens in the pen it enters through. I have a live trap out tonight so I someone has a date with my .22!! Good luck to both of us.

Hi everyone as you know the fall P.O.O.P.S will be Sept. 26th. It has been decided that we would have a Pot luck lunch & dinner! We are looking for foods that are just as good cold as they are hot.

We will have limited outlets for crock pots if that is something you might be interested in. We will also have limited space to keep things cool between lunch and dinner, so if you bring something that needs to be kept cool make arrangements for that. For some folks that travel you could possibly have your ingredients made and put them together on site. Keep in mind the number of people that will be attending when making your dish or dishes.

We will also need paper goods, silverware & drinks. I have a couple of large igloo coolers that can be used for tea & kool-aid. If you have an one we could use let me know. I will need volunteers for set up before each meal along with volunteers for clean up after.

Please contact (PM) myself or TJ’s Nana if you have any questions or if you need a suggestion as to what you can bring. I will keep a running list of items.

Volunteer's for set up & clean up: (will work on times later)

Hey what's the big idea !!!!! Dogging out the weather is my deal hehehe LOL. No rain here just sweltering choking desert like conditions with no relief in sight, just when my garden started looking halfway normal it is destine to shrivel away in this weather. What a waste trying to get things other than dry dirt to grow.

Its not the weather I am dogging its the guys that say it isn't gonna rain and then boom boom flash flash pour pour.
I'll take all the rain I can get this time of year.
I moved about 80 chicks into outside pens this morning and then they all got soaked this afternoon and probably again tonight.

Hey Buck, things are going great. I am thrilled to have chickens again and someone gave me some Cuckoo Marans today, almost fell down I was so shocked LOL!. We started football practice Monday and have what looks to be a really good team this year. I wish all there was to coaching was teaching kids how to play but we all know it goes so much further than that...fundraising, equipment, putting up with the parents lol!!!!It takes a lot of time/effort.
