I'll have to take a look tomorrow & let ya know. Maybe if I get to go to Cement I could bring several for you to choose from ... that is, if you're going to that auction?

I'm already having auction withdrawals ... I need help ... it's just so much fun to visit with everone and look at all the pretty birdies

Carla - After I make this transaction with you, I need to just stay away from ANY chicken sales! Hey! You guys should come by my house. You haven't seen the one in town.

But we can work something out, up to you. Any idea if yours are pullets?

Gerald is usually a much better salesman than that! Or maybe I am more easily sold things that I really want to get and just need a little extra encouragement.

Gerald was bragging at POOPS that all he has to do is hand a silkie chick to a child and tell them to go show it to their parents. It works best on Grandma's though

I doubt the Fletcher auction will be as good as the Cement auction, at least it wasn't 2 weeks ago. Anyway, I'm doing my best to convince Gerald to go the the Cement auction .... told him I was afraid to drive there by myself

Hopefully that works ... when I talked to him a few hours ago, he said he might drive me there and stay out in the truck.

Are you going to the Cement auction? Newcastle show? I need to bring you that nice turkey cage back. Did you know that turkey was so smart he escaped the cage twice? I guess he unlatched the door. The second time, we found him on top of the Narragansett pen, on the other side of our barn. At least he knows which pen he was supposed to go in. I was worried that the older tom might beat him up, but he fit in perfectly.

Yes, Gerald handed a white silkie to a very willing Jaxon at POOPS and she is doing well with the partridge silkie hen he bought from Betsy. As I recall, that is how we wound up buying a mixed breed turkey at the Spring POOPS, as well.

Yes, I am planning on going by Blanchard to see if I can find the poultry show and then going to Cement. The only thing I might be interested in purchasing would be some large cages, but they have to fit in the back of the van. LOL!

That cage the turkey was in was formerly a dog crate and we used to put new bottle fed kid goats in it and keep them in the house when it was really cold. I am amazed he managed to slide the bolts on the door and open it. Isn't it funny how he recognized his breed and stayed with their pen. He was wandering the yard with Uno and 3 other Narragansett toms, so I guess he has a few "survival" skills - or maybe he just goes down with the first punch.

Carla : I didn't know Gerald was that PO'd that he was considering not ever attending Cement again, I will change his mind besides what the heck am I going to do there by mydang self LOL.

I don't know if Jerry said that Sam was selling out just picking up some birds for him. I live close enough to Sam I could find some time and swing by. If so I may grab some of his birds for myself.

Let me know if your headed to Cement or Fletcher Saturday.

Gerald could probably convince Tom to get one of those trucks too. He's got lots of friends & contacts for them ... and there's always those government auctions around ... the old Dayton Tire plant is now a regional office for govliquidation.com

Hey, Tuttle Tigers play the Blanchard ??? something-or-others this Friday night. Anyway, it's a home game. Ya'll should go.

Anybody that wants to see some awesome high school football should visit Tuttle on Friday night.

However, there probably won't be anyplace to park or sit, the place will be totally packed.

Yeah, Al you are probably the only one that can convice Gerald to go back. He always had so much fun visiting with you there. Please talk him into going to Cement. I could be wrong, but I think Cement will have a better selection and turnout than Fletcher.

Hey, if you go see Sam ... I'm probably interested in some things he has too. Maybe you can talk Sam into not selling out too. I always enjoyed visiting with Sam, too.

I agree Cement will be better and we will have to start to choose to be honest. I will call you when I get a chance to see Sam and find out what he's got there.
