Al helped me, but maybe you are thinking of someone else he helped. Most I did was post on how I processed my monster turkeys, with pics, and that setup is kind of overkill for chickens.

Although Al thinks it is also overkill for processing monster turkeys.

Hey good late nite all!
Al I have sent you a bunch of e-mails. Hope you can help me out when you have time!
Hope all enjoyed the auctions . I sure did. I left early so as not to be tempted to over buy,as I want to save some money for the young bird show in Louisville,Ky next weekend. I did get a nice trio of orential games, bantams. Will have to get pics posted so you guys can help me identify the breed. Also got 6 f,1m guniea pigs! Really wanted a pair of young white lansangs(spelling?) they were young and awesome.,but wouldn't sell till late. Also wanted two little pot pigs ,just babys,Dw would have nailed me to the wall for sure!lol

Enough for the second coat. I got buff/wheat colored paint in my hair, dangitall.

I'll wait to paint the camouflage pattern on it til next week. Gotta haul it into place tomorrow when I get off work... that's gonna be a pain in the hind end. Sucker is big and HEAVY.

Some people pay extra for that, call 'em highlights or something.

Are you going to need a forklift? I have a little coop (freebie) that for the floor they used a solid wood door on. I move it with my tractor that has a front loader on it, but not without my heaviest implement on the back.

J and I were staring at it tonight, we have a trailer that it'll fit on, on its side (right now it's at J's house, we need to haul it to mine, BAD mistake building it here instead of in place at my house). The problem is that it is MUCH heavier since we overbuilt it by accident (stupid stupid stupid error, probably a GOOD error to make, but not on a coop that has to be moved 12 miles). Oh, did I mention that we don't know anybody around here that can help us move it?

I'm just hoping I don't throw my back out.

I was just here winding down after a long day of outside stuff to catch up on posts. Not as much about Blanchard as I thought there would be. Good luck with the project and the birds. Are they from a BYC-er? I hope to get some pics taken of some of my stuff soon, maybe tomorrow, and posted on here. Just another one of those things that never seem to get done.

Don't hurt yourself loading that thing, let the mechanical power do it. Lever it up on one end then back the trailer under it, tie it up to something and pull it off at your house. Good luck and recruit help.

Goodnight FL and good morning to the rest of you Okies.

eta: I can't get there by tomorrow to help, sorry.

Hey Okies

Had to wind down a bit from the drive home...Mike and I had a blast in Blanchard!!! Have to agree with Buster that the auctioneers were definately plugged in! By the way...thanks again Buster for your directions!!! Couldn't have been better!!

I was thinking on the way home how blessed we are to know all you guys...

Roy and Shawn...I am praying for you guys as ya head back to No Man's Land....You guys gotta long trip ahead of ya....Be careful...! Hope you had fun....Shawn hope your new fella makes it back...what a neat bird. You guys are great.

It was so great to see Carla and Gerald. Glad Gerald crossed the picket line!! For me it wouldn't be the same without ya...Carla I told Mike you had those lavender guineas there and I think he was disappointed....Leave it to him to get stuck guineas....He definately has a thing for noisy birds! (*Hennies points to self*) I am seriously making a list for you for spring...don't give up on me....wish I coulda bid on those eggs....(Like I really need to hatch more roosters in winter!!)

Monty it was great getting to talk to you...Sorry I forgot the pic...Will get it out to ya.....and I will check on that trippy Eldorado story.

Maribeth...you are always so sweet. Thanks for the support and encouragement...Hope your dog enjoys its rabbit...

We finally made it home from the Blanchard auction. Probably left just before they turned off the lights

We had a great time visiting with all the BYC Okies and met Shawn for the first time

Gosh, I wish I had felt better while there ... luckily the migraine medicine worked long enough to enjoy visiting with everyone. Head is pounding again as I type, though.

I'm so glad Gerald decided at the last minute to come with me. He had a great time too, although he might not want to admit it to anyone.

K.T., you should have bid on those silkie eggs! Most of our silkie chicks have been hatching out as pullets.

Thank you Maribeth for buying lots of young guineas and a frizzle.

Thank you Roy for buying the moderns & guineas.

Roy, I'm so sorry somebody stole your baby ducks and cage from your trailer

I hope ya'll had a safe trip home & we sure enjoyed seeing you again.

Well, I'd better get off the computer and eat my french toast that Gerald fixed me

Oh, and I forgot to mention, thank you Mike for letting me buy the pair of black rosecomb bantams from you.

Woke up this morning to a lot of loud peeping coming from the incubator in the other room. Rushed in to see what the deal was and found that a chick had hatched (several actually) but still had 1/2 the shell on him and most of the membrane had dried on him. So, I turned on the heater in the bathroom and ran some warm water in the sink & got out a new toothbrush. 30 minutes later I had him all cleaned up, took some pretty serious scrubin to get all the dried up stuff off of him & he was pretty vocal about it..... bet he's gonna be a mean one

All is well that ends well I guess. He is back in the bator with the others now drying off. Out of the 6 Roundhead eggs that made it to the hatching tray 4 have hatched, one is still zippin out and one has not started yet. I yelled at the slacker while I had the bator open & told him to hurry up.

On another good note, two of those buff hens I have are laying now! The eggs are weighing 1.8 Ozs. and one of my bantam hens has started laying also but I'm not sure if it is the Black OEG or one of the two Blue Breasted Red OEG's. Last night I put the black pair in a different pen so I hope to know who's laying today.

The chicks that are hatching look awesome!! They are big & healthy, lots of lung
