My hubby makes what he calls "Beef and Beans." He's a bit of a chili snob - real chili doesn't have beans.
He makes a quick and easy chili recipe.
1 large can of Ranch Style Beans
1 lb ground beef
1 diced onion
1 pkg onion soup mix
1 can diced tomatoes
1 can tomato sauce
chili powder to taste
garlic powder to taste
Brown the beef and stir in the onions. Season with a tiny bit of salt. When the onions are tender, add remaining ingredients. Simmer for about half an hour. This makes enough chili for hubby and I. We usually have macaroni with it (yeah! We're having chili mac tonight!
) and LOTS of shredded cheese.
You can increase the proportions depending on how many people you are feeding.
(It actually makes a bit more than we can eat. Hubby doesn't know I've caught him "sampling it" during the day!)
