My SIL got three so far - they are already in his families' freezer. I told him he'd better give me some of the steaks or I'm gonna rat him out!

He cheats - he got tags under his name and tags under my oldest daughter's name. She can't hunt anymore because of her Lupus - the cold weather is agonizing for her. He hunts for her. The third one - well, we just turn a blind eye - we are so over run with deer around here it's not even funny. I nearly hit two on my way to work this morning, and that was before I even got to the highway!

Dee, if you need some help with those deer, you just holler at me.

It doen't sound like an oddball diet to me!

I had an OTT Appy that was rail thin and I soaked beat pulp for him.
I have also used Black Oil Sunflower Seeds and Flax seeds as a top dressing for added fat. You can also use Corn oil as a top dressing for addtional calories and fat, however my horses do NOT like it. They like the crunchy little seeds.

Right now all we have is very plump pasture ornaments. A VERY aged molly mule(35+), an aged gelding(23+), a 8 yr old medicine hat paint mare and a 5 yr old bay roan mare. I am considering sending the 5 yr old to a friends handicap riding facility. She is being wasted here.

The goats LOVE the Black Oil Sunflower Seeds too! And it makes the SOOOOO pretty.

Daughter was supposed to go to the feed store today and pick up flax seed, but the shipment didn't come in. Now it's been pushed back to next week. We tried the corn oil, but the mare colicked, so the vet nixed the oil. Must have been too rich for her. She gets Red Cell, too. (what would we do without Red Cell? It's the only thing still around from when DH and I had horses when we were first married!) Oh GEEZ - today's our anniversary - and I forgot it!

His family sure eats a lot of venison. Turns out it's also good for my daughter's lupus - she's really not supposed to eat red meat - but the venison is so lean and high protein she can have it.

DH is going to smoke a couple of deer roasts real soon. Has anybody done that before? I wonder how it will turn out...

Here are a few pictures of the Welsummers I bought from you at POOPS. They are no longer chicks. Aren't they a handsome bunch?
https://www.backyardchickens.com/forum/uploads/34274_dsc_0054_wince.jpg Pullets. One little girl has green legs??? She'll go into the egg laying pen.

Poco Pollo

Poco, It was hard for me to keep everything straight in the chicks I hatched for POOPS. The one with green legs is probably a Campine cross. When you get time try and get a close up shot of her. There were also some Gold Salman Marans that hatched in that batch. Sorry you got something mixed in with the Wellies.

Monty:
Not to worry. She's a healthy, spunky little pullet. I'm sure she'll be a great egg layer when she's a little older. She's one of the friendliest, as well, so my grand kids love her. Thanks for selling chicks at POOPS. I hope I'll be able to bring a batch of chicks next time we have another POOPS gathering.

Yes, I am getting ready - already had the frozen breaded okra for lunch, but just got back from the grocery store, where I bought steaks, potatoes and stuff to make a green salad. I think I have previously mentioned that we have stopped fixing a "traditional" Thanksgiving meal.

It was my original plan to stop at the grocery store on my way home, but it took me 5 minutes to pull through the parking lot and there wasn't any way I was going in there at that time. What is it that folks wait until the night before Thanksgiving to buy their dinner ingredients?

It is wonderful that you are going to become foster parents. Oklahoma has way too many kids who need it and not nearly enough good folks who are able and willing to provide the loving home the kids need.

What do you do at the casino? I deal poker at River Spirit in Tulsa.

Nothing special - I'm just a slots addict. Thank heaven Sac & Fox has ladies nite - $5 in free play - that's just about all I do when I go - I spend their money and leave!
