Tara,

They were fine yesterday. I haven't been out yet today, but I'm sure they're doing ok still. They should stay warm and dry inside that brooder for a few more weeks. I will get outside on the next pretty day and put a divider across the center and put another light in the other end. That way I can move chicks of different ages around.

Like I said before, now I just have to get some numbers on the ground.

Her name is Jeanne Fingar. She lives in Montana and may not ship this late in the year for fear of freezing, but she can put you on the list for Spring.

Thanks Stimpy... I emailed her earlier this morning (got the link from the Dorking Breeders Club website I think)... she is the one who has the Silver Grays that are laying.

I've done business with her in the past. I sent her a money order late in the year, and come Spring, I got an e-mail asking me if I was ready for the eggs to be shipped. Anyone that knows me will tell you that I am not the most trusting individual you're going to meet. I would gladly do business with Jeanne again.

Hi folks - I am still trying to get over being sick. My head cold has decided to sit in my right ear and it really hurts and that ear is stopped up. I went to a job at 9:00 yesterday morning and got released at 3:00....this morning. It's not all that bad though - I have until 3:00 this afternoon to recuperate before my next gig. At which I will probably still have this pesky cold, but I'll look good - and that's what counts, after all!

My next post will be the latest Shawnee update - Monty, if you let me know the Mexican restaurant name I'll include that on the Shawnee information page I have going. Do people plan on wearing their blue tee shirts from fall POOPS to help the Okies we haven't met find us? Wear it with a contrasting long-sleeve thermal tee under it and make quite the fashion statement while remaining warm! (It's okay to take fashion advice from a lady who wears a coon-skin cap!)

(Stimpy your online accent is making me smile!)

This page lists the BYC Okies and others as noted who plan to attend the 2009 Oklahoma Poultry Association Show December 12-13 in Shawnee, OK. The venue is the Heart of Oklahoma Exposition Center located at 1700 W. Independence. Here's a link to directions: http://www.shawneeexpo.com/map-directions/

Most
of the Okies are going to meet, shop and look, while cheering on those few who are showing! It's coming up fast - take advantage of this chance to see a top-notch Poultry Show AND get together with friends from BYC!

I'm there with you. I late hatched some cubalaya early in the fall. Of the 8 chicks remaining, only one is a desperately needed pullet. Here's to hoping she'll live to a proper egg laying & breeding age.

Kae, the Foo Foo eggs go in the hatching tray tomorrow. Cross your fingers and everything else you can cross. Maybe a little Foo Foo Voo Doo wil help.

I am delivering birds to Teach and maybe Sooner.

Anyone want an extra eye candy roosters?
I know, I know, that is like asking if anyone wants an extra root canal.
I have sopme very pretty Campine/Buff Orpington cross pullets.
Also I have a Naked Neck rooster with muffs. I guess he is a NN EE but he has white legs not blue.
Any OSU people want a pretty orange rooster?

I didn't get a t-shirt, so I'll be wearing a wedding dress with a matching football helmet and lineman's boots. I hope y'all can find me.

See this is why I'm kinda iffy on hatching. I know my luck... I'm most likely gonna be roo-heavy.
