Well when I got motivated and went out to do chores. I found two nest boxes with 2 cochin eggs in each of them.

They have been free range so not sure if they are even fertile or what they are mixed with. But what the hey we will try our luck and see what we get.

Hey Guys, need some help here. I have a young Welsummer hen that seems to have something caught in her throat. Last night when I went to give the chickens their scratch, she was making this coughing, sneezing sound and standing with her neck stretched out and beak open. I picked her up but couldn't feel anything. I put her on the roost, thinking she would get rid of it by morning. My Shamo roo always eats so fast that about chokes himself all the time. But today she is still making that hacking sound. I still couldn't feel anything. She definitely hasn't eaten anything though. Her crop was empty. I hear wheezing when she breathes. So I am assuming it is something caught in her windpipe. What do I need to do?

I cant believe I m going to type this but our chicken flock seems to be a bit happier since we let go of some of our chickens at the Fletcher sale

I would think they would be sad to see their sisters and brothers go?

I wonder how they will be when we sell more of them off ..... muwhaaaa

Good evenin everyone hope everyone had a great day!! I came home today and I must say it was pretty nice outside so I got some more pens predator proof! I had to put down one of my barred rock hens she seemed to be having some respiratory problems she was just laying on the ground grasping so I couldnt watch her suffer. I will be bringing a number of different Marans to POOPS if the eggs I have set have a good hatch.
