What color are the little ones? I'm sure they are super cute and someone will be ready to buy them when you are ready to sell. They may be the perfect size to get rid of come sometime around oh let's just say May 1st.

I just told my DH that I was thinking of going to Blanchard. He told me that if I come home with another calf, he will shoot me.

Then he reminded me that I will have to drive my car and I wouldn't really have room for the pair of turkeys that I really want.

But I reminded him that I will be all alone and I needed to do something to pass the time and I promised him I wouldn't spend too much money.

He told me that if I wanted to go, I could and he wouldn't say a word about it.

Jason didnt notice the chicks until late last night.... after I was doing

because I was

because once he saw the chicks he tried to pull this on me...

"so you forget to mention about buying chicks, to which I retort... hmmm lets see $2 chicks vs a $16,000 auto loan...." but I did say he was right that neither one of us did fill each other in on the "surprize purchases"... so now we are back to

each other...

Thanks ya'll. I got two white and one red (or maybe buff) cochins. From their feathering pattern, I think I may have picked out two pullets and one cockeral. I got one white and one black silkie. The white silkie is really little and looks like a cotton puff with a tiny black beak. The black silkie isn't as cute - kind of gangly with wing feathers coming in.

OK someone give an honest estimate of how long it should take me to get to Blanchard. I looked at MapQuest and it said over 3 hours.

If it is that long of a drive, I won't make it. I have a little trouble seeing after dark.

I've had your "buyers remorse" when I bought chicks before, but I quickly get over it! If you decide you don't want them, as soon as May 1st (POOPS) I know for sure you could resell them!
And, besides, they are just so cute who cares about their show quality

I'm not sure that I've ever seen a Blue barred chicken, but I bet they are pretty!

He is very neat looking, I really must get a photo of him and show everyone.

Oh that sounds beautiful. I didn't know that Barred Rocks come in blue too. I must have some. Are you going to be selling some? Or sell some of your eggs?

Yes, I'll be selling chicks when I go to POOPS.

I may enter some eggs in the fundraising auction, if they're still laying good by then.
