Oh that sounds beautiful. I didn't know that Barred Rocks come in blue too. I must have some. Are you going to be selling some? Or sell some of your eggs?

Yes, I'll be selling chicks when I go to POOPS.

I may enter some eggs in the fundraising auction, if they're still laying good by then.

Well, if we are at an auction anytime soon together I might have to twist your arm for some eggs, hehehehe. I love blue anything! And I really love the BR breed, they are so friendly and sweet.

Grace,

I am really sorry for yesterday. I think my message came across differently than I meant it to sound. I was really wanting to figure out the auction, I think I had seen your post the day before, but then got confused again. I started to at first just ask about the auction then at last moment asked about the Pryor stuff too. So it wasn't to mean that you hadn't answered my question. I have been just so tired lately with getting over sicknesses here in my household and trying to keep up with my semester load of school work. I am getting about a few hours of sleep at a time, so I am not always thinking right. Although, maybe I shouldn't use that excuse because some of my closest friends would probably say I never think right, I always think Left. LOL OK I am on a chicken buzz from this mornings swap meet. I am all giddy!!! Got up earlier than I normally do, 6:30am but didn't get to bed until almost 3 am then woke up around 4am and was up for a little bit then went back to sleep. I will probably have to have a nap later this afternoon.

We just got done eating some yummy waffled my DH made for Char and I. Now I am ready to go outside and tackle some yard work and chicken coop building. Although, I wish my husband didn't have to leave for Baseball stuff so he could help me. It would really be nice to have another set of hands for a change. :sigh

Sure thing!

Mine are rather tame, so hopefully the babies have the same temperment as the parents.

Thanks Grace! I'm sure I'll be bringing them to POOPS. Meanwhile, I will enjoy watching them - they seem happy and healthy, so that is good!

I'm not sure that I've ever seen a Blue barred chicken, but I bet they are pretty!

He is very neat looking, I really must get a photo of him and show everyone.

I want to see him, too! Blue barred sounds really neato.

City that is so funny! You will be fine! They will give you a chick fix and you know you can get rid of any chicken cute or not!! I have 8 babies that will have to go outside very soon, going to work on that later today.

Shavon, I have no idea where you are to help you with your distance question. I would think that mapquest would have be accurate on the time.

I have half the house clean & have set up the other incubator (yes I have lost my mind) going to set some Partridge cochin eggs later today. The neighbor that I have been setting eggs for is having trouble with his bator so I may not get any of the one's that I set up there. I am really disappointed in that considering Ihave the blue americana's set up there along with some that I got from Chuck!

Ya'll have fun at the auction tonight. Wish I could be there!

Donna I knew I forgot something!!

Congrats!!

When I grow up I want to be just like you & DH!!! HOpe you have a blast at the party, if your kids like to have fun as much as you do I bet the party will be something else!

They start selling goats and calves at 2:00 and this week they are selling groceries after that.
Poultry related stuff starts at 5:00 cages, waterers incubators etc. then eggs, chicks and adults

Actually, Jerry indicated that they are going to sell groceries at 2:00 and then the goats and calves at 3:00 - followed by the poultry at 5:00. Groceries are a new addition today. They have been scheduled to sell goats and calves at 2:00 since they started doing that, but the general consensus has been that they never actually started selling them until 3:00 (did I mention waiting from 2:00 to 3:00 two weeks ago so I could bid on the bottle goats?)

Thanks to everyone who responded, we went to the auction north of Perkins this morning, they only had five dozen of fertile
eggs. We got those, they were RIR and some are RIR x Buff's. Definately not the marans I wanted! Oh well maybe the next time. I just didn't want to drive that far to get some eggs (92 miles one way) and the grandkids were getting anixous to get something in the incubator! You all have a great time, oh and if you would let me know what kind of bottle calves they had and what they bring. Thanks a bunch!
Theresa
