I am not certain that the EE pullets I will take are laying yet, or what color egg they lay. I am getting several "pink" eggs but not a lot of blue/green eggs, compared to the number of EEs I have.

I'll be once again stuck in a little office inside a big aircraft hanger wishing I were there. Gerald will have to call me from the auction and let me listen in on the fun ya'll will be having.

I know the feeling. I will be at the library showing a movie until 9 at night. The jerk who schedules these things really ticks me off sometimes!!!

O, wait... that would be me.

Jim, you know you love sharing this kind of information with folks.

Here is a cut and paste of the email I received today in response to my question to the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife regarding whether a breeder's permit is required for pharoah/coturnix quail and pheasants other than ring-neck pheasants. It appears we do NOT need a breeder's permit for pharoah/coturnix quail, but they should be NPIP tested, which is what a Pullorum/Typhoid test is.

subjectRE: non-native quail and pheasants - commercial and non-commercial wildlife breeder's licenses

The quail that require a breeder's permit are: Blue/Scale, Bobwhite,
California, Gambel, Masked, Montezuma and Mountain. With these quail you
will also need import/export permit from the Dept of Ag., a Pullorum
Typhoid test and a health certificate.

Ringneck pheasant require a breeder's permit, import/export permit from
Dept of Ag, Pullorum Typhoid test and a health certificate. All other
pheasant require the Pullorum Typhoid test and a health certificate.

Teach is always looking for bantams - but usually has barrels and quail to trade. I think I got the last of his cages at the Shawnee show.

Well either a coon or a bionic possum got in one of my pens. I was sure it was a coon but when I went back to check on things a possum was up on top of the wire eating some of the remains that I couldn't remove. I think a coon did the initial atttack and the possum was just being opportunistic. Either way I lost two Welsummer hens anda blue rooster.

Monty sorry you lost some! Set the trap since they will be back!

Maribeth, I was thinking you got eggs too. Oh well. Wonder what the deal was with the chicks? That is just sad. The eggs I got are due to hatch on Sunday but with the trouble this incubator had there is no telling if they will hatch.

Good Morning everyone!
